Hello.

My name is Jean and after reading through your posts here, I thought it might be a good idea to utilize this space to introduce myself and put feelers out for those who might know -- or know of -- me. Establish where our paths might have crossed, if at all, and maybe learn about your experiences here.

[ Her tone softens and warms significantly, less formal and introductory now: ]

I'd be interesting in learning about your experiences here even if we don't know each other, actually. Don't be shy.

[ A moment after posting this to the network, Jean broadcasts a telepathic message to those whose brain patterns and engrams are distinctly mutant asking those who might receive the message to get in touch. (No telling how far that message reaches, just given there are mutants from different universes and whatnot - feel free to do with this what you will!) ]

But we're doing it, right. We're really reviving everyone? Including my team?

We're really doing it. I know how it must sound, after everything-- [ She looks away from the camera for a moment, something bordering on remorseful. ] I can't even truly speak for everything that you've all experienced, I didn't share in those experiences with you, but I have seen it through the minds and memories of those who've let me in. Things are different now and I can't say that they're perfect, we're still finding our footing, but this is a chance to do things differently.

All of us.

[ he knots his fingers together offscreen, considering her words. ]

Forgive me if I have a hard time believing that, Miss Grey.

[atombomb]

[ She shakes her head, her voice softer now. ]

I think if I'd lived through even some of what you've seen and experienced, I'd have a pretty hard time believing what I'm saying right now, too. But I hope you get to see it for yourself one day, Josh. I hope you get a chance to see what we've accomplished on Krakoa for yourself.

It's not that I don't believe that it exists.

[ ... ]

It's that I don't know if any of you have changed enough to make it any different from before. We were promised safety on Utopia, and a future, and -- and you saw for yourself what we were living in at the end of it all.

[ and. ]

I'm so sick and tired of promises of things being better and different only for it to go the same way.

Isn't that also something you'd have to see for yourself? You have to live it. Experience it. See how the whole thing works for yourself before you can truly decide if it is different.

I can't say that things are perfect, they rarely, but I've seen a lot of change over the years, Josh. I've been an X-Man since I was just a kid, I've seen a lot, and though I don't expect for you to take me at my word, we all are doing our best to ensure a new and better future or all mutants.

To be honest?

[ he doesn't mean to be a dismissive prick about this. he really doesn't. but. ]

It always seems different right up until it's too late to get out.

Is that any reason not to keep trying?

I'm curious: how would you do things differently? Or, if you'd wash your hands of it, what would you do next?

The very definition of insanity is trying the same thing, again and again, expecting it to be different.

[ he looks off to the side. hard to tell with those empty eyes. ]

I'd want the "adults" to stop telling us we're kids and then ignoring how they treat us like soldiers when it's convenient. I'd like the words no or I don't want to do that to mean something.

[atombomb]

I realize this might not mean much, but I am sorry, Josh. You have to remember that we were all just children once. Not just us, but the very idea of peaceful coexistence was only in its infancy. I won't try to excuse the past, I won't pretend that there aren't some decisions I personally disagree with, but sometimes... [ She sighs. ] We "adults" have only ever had the best of intentions.

And while you may go home one day and forget all about this talk, I hope that you speak up. I hope you tell all of us how you feel.
