[ there is no video; only audio: the sounds of what seems to be fiddling in the background, hands moving uncertainly around as he tries to get comfortable where he is and with this technology. sure, he has spent the last few weeks learning. slow, patient, meticulous. but weeks to learn an entirely different world is not much.

and when he feels he has exhausted his resources he finally, finally forces himself to swallow his nerves and post. ]

Good evening. [ he clear his throat, unsure. ] I was hoping to find activities here that would help someone get better acquainted with this world faster. Is such a thing possible?

For those who come from different worlds or times, how did you adapt?

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Xiao Daozhang, I have been looking at some things. There are these things called 'audiobooks' which are books read by somebody, and you can listen to them and still learn. They are recordings, so it would not take up the time of someone, so you need not worry about that.

Is that something that might be of interest? If so, I can look for books about this world, history or perhaps the current state of affairs...?

They do seem to be common, judging by the variety and ready availability of them. Like the text-to-speech function of the communication devices, I believe. People in this world seem to strive to make things easy to use.

There is indeed a lot of it, but indeed, not so bad.

And, of course, if you come across titles that do not have the option, I would not object to helping read out for you, too.

Daozhang, you are always welcome to come to my house, or if I am with Wangji, then there. But I would also come to you whenever you may want. Simply say the word.

There is a library in any city. Would you like us to go to the one in Jeopardy together?

... five should suit. Unlike library pavilions, libraries here have employees, too, and they have working hours, so we will not be able to stay too late, but we should have enough time to begin with something.

Hmm. Is there something you are most curious about? If not, then perhaps a bit of history might not be ill suited.
