Mask or Menace is a panfandom urban 'superhero' genre DWRP game, where heroes, villains, and everyone in between seek to survive and thrive in a world loosely parallel to our own.

[ Video starts with a blob. There is a blue blob in front of the communicator. And after a couple of seconds, the blob squirms and a voice is heard ] Oh! This is on! That was easier than I expected. [ yes, the blob is talking ] Hello, I'm Rimuru Tempest: a slime! [ the blue slime hops once, swaying from side to side for a moment before he continues, excitedly ] Don't worry, I'm not a bad sliiiiime!!! [ well. Maybe people in this world know Dragon Quest, maybe they don't. This place reminds him of his own Earth a lot, with some crucial differences like Superheroes, but if he is lucky, there will be others from the same place as him.

In any case, slime introductions were made, and suddenly the ball bounces and suddenly reshapes itself into a boy (~~girl? Who knows.~~) and Rimuru finally stands in his human form, hands on his hips. He sees no need to continue playing super-cute, so he calms down, but he is smiling ] I think you'll appreciate it a lot more if I look like this.

It's not the first time I was pulled into a new place, though it's still weird. I kept some of my powers, but not all. [ he looks down at his hands and then crosses his arms, with a thoughtful expression on his face ] I'm missing my Unique Skill. It's a bit lonely. Will I be able to get her back? Can I level up in this place? [ level up... well, sure, he will use that expression, it's easier. ]

In any case, this seems like a really interesting place. I hope we can be friends. [ and he smiles wide again before he cuts off the feed ]

[Shen Qingqiu, or more aptly at the moment Shen Yuan was sitting in front of the camera looking a bit confused. He looked nothing like he normally did, his hair was short, he wore glasses, his face thought still rather pretty was more sickly in complexion, like someone who needed to go outside more. His clothes were completely modern and would fit right in with contemporary fashion. Though his style screamed of someone who chose what was 'appropriate' rather than what was trendsetting.]

Even though rule number one of internet posting is don't share your likeness, it seems to be the preferred method of this network most the time.

[He couldn't help but sigh. He wasn't one to talk to people very much and preferred typing his interactions.]

But, anyway, I seek advice. Or help. I'm... not quite sure what is going on. I remember being here, I definitely woke up here a while ago, but... it feels a bit... hazy.

There is a huge gap! A huge gap between that, and before! I feel like I was at some sort of convention. Was I cosplaying? Does anyone else have that problem? Sort of remembering before but having trouble with it?

I don't really LARP, so, maybe it was a dream? Still, that's a bit morbid. I knew that shitty novel would be the end of me. Not only did it take my money without even trying to tell a good story! it gives me nightmares about living in its shitty low fantasy cultivation world. I thought I died, I thought I was going to die again too.

I was thinking about just using this to get to know some people, ask for music suggestions, info on local hangouts and that sort of thing, but I gotta say, that feels kind of tone deaf with all this going on, you dig?

However, in the time I am from some people still saw the toothbrush as a fascinating and complicated marvel.

Now, I am curious. What inventions do you value the most? Are there any here that have amazed you personally?

I do rather like how these gadgets allow for such direct communications. That is wondrous indeed.

[The screen is moving as it turns on. At first it is facing the ground and then it turns and the scenery blurs as it moves. Finally there is a face but its upside down. After a brief pause the screen flips as the user seems to figure out how it works and his face fills the screen the correct way.]

I was told I could use it to speak to others. So if you are out there I request information.

[Xue Yang sits on what appears to be a low wall. In the background there is obvious rows of tombstones but despite this odd location to be broadcasting from a toothy smile is on his face. He has found himself in a world that is full of things he isn't sure how to even begin to understand so he found the one place he does. A cemetery.]

Tell me...When you first arrived in this place, what was the first thing you did?

[Part of this is to figure out what interesting activities are out there and the other part is to investigate the people who might respond to him on here. Normally he would be wandering around, making mischief but even he is smart enough to know doing so in a weird world might not be wise. Better to get his bearings first.]

This place has a lot of things I've never seen before and I intend to investigate all of it thoroughly, but I'm curious if there is something I should see first. So..enlighten me.

--type cataloguing or tracking of manifestation patterns, it's just too helpful to not have been done, not just in a scientific sense but as an aid for education and social awareness, to say nothing of aiding with problems arising in basic infrastructure and social services due to lack of preparation for Quirk-related complications, especially in healthcare, plus being able to better provide dedicated support to individuals struggling with their Quirks when the underlying mechanisms are well understood...

If you suddenly found yourself with all the time in the world to do anything you wanted, what would you do?

[The camera turns on and a rather ethereally beautiful man is sitting in front of it. He is dressed in silk robes of light green that seem to flutter at the slightest breeze. He is holding a decorated fan in front of himself and projecting the fine dignified and noble air of an immortal scholar.

When he speaks it is soft and gentle. He made sure to keep his speech in line with the image that he was trying to convey.]

It has come to this masters attention that... adjusting to this world is not easy for all.

[Of course, it had been pretty easy for him, but it wasn't all that different from what he was familiar with. Of course, because of his own foolishness, he couldn't admit to that now!]

Thus, this teacher would like to offer... lessons, in handling the new tools of this world. This one has become quite proficient and can lend aid to those of worlds less... of worlds lacking in such items.

I'm sure by now at least most of us are familiar with the tendency of the swear-ins to end in some sort of potentially life-threatening incident. It's enough to make one wonder if perhaps someone's not as eager to have us here as they say they are, and are creating or taking advantage of a situation meant to celebrate our presence.

I am going to preface this announcement by stating that no matter its potential reward, I do not appreciate losing three days to the whims of the Porter or whatever being controls it.

[Which is all he'll be saying on that front since it's not as if anyone can actually stop the port-outs. Instead of dawdling, he holds one hand up in front of the camera to display a small pyramid-shaped device ] levitating above his palm. Black and bronze, and faintly glowing at its core.]

I require volunteers. For those of you not familiar, this device is a holocron. Specifically, a Sith holocron- the Jedi have their own, but the principle is the same for both. Traditionally they are meant to store knowledge and teachings of the Sith for future reference, but my own limited experimentation has shown the ones I can create here have further potential.

[And possibly dangerous potential, but he plans on closely supervising and restricting usage to avoid that possibility.]

My intent is to use these holocrons to record any strange events or phenomena that occurs- or has already occurred- and any potential triggers or warnings preceding them. In theory, this will make it somewhat easier to respond to any such incidents in the future. Or at least know when to expect one, so that we might be better prepared to deal with it.

You need not be from my own galaxy to assist. Ideally, I would prefer to experiment on as wide a variety of beings as possible to test for compatibility. Force-sensitives, telepaths, magic users, even none of the above. I also plan to seek assistance from some of the locals in order to determine whether non-imPorts can make use of them.
