[ there is no video; only audio: the sounds of what seems to be fiddling in the background, hands moving uncertainly around as he tries to get comfortable where he is and with this technology. sure, he has spent the last few weeks learning. slow, patient, meticulous. but weeks to learn an entirely different world is not much.

and when he feels he has exhausted his resources he finally, finally forces himself to swallow his nerves and post. ]

Good evening. [ he clear his throat, unsure. ] I was hoping to find activities here that would help someone get better acquainted with this world faster. Is such a thing possible?

For those who come from different worlds or times, how did you adapt?

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

There isn't much in particular other than trying to experience as many things as possible. Perhaps education?

What sort of trouble are you having? One who is familiar with it can no doubt help in explaining it.

This one has been reading books and exploring the places that exist for education. Museums. Art installations. Historical Monuments. She is considering taking classes at the 'college' once she has learned the process for being allowed to do so.

She has also found another from her own world at a very different time who arrived here many months ago and has already struggled and floundered his way into understanding. He has been most gracious in attempting to help Khajiit learn. There may be others as well. She has only been here a week, seven days, and could not say who is best to speak to.

Xiao Daozhang, I have been looking at some things. There are these things called 'audiobooks' which are books read by somebody, and you can listen to them and still learn. They are recordings, so it would not take up the time of someone, so you need not worry about that.

Is that something that might be of interest? If so, I can look for books about this world, history or perhaps the current state of affairs...?

[ The answering voice is rough, blunt, a soldier's voice. ]

Nothing for it than to do it. You learn the hard way along the way. For everything else, looking things up on the 'net will do, provided you're prepared for the fact that it may lead you astray.

Best way to get to know this world, in general, is to explore it. If you're looking to meet others, using the network like this or going to one of the Swear-Ins works.

We're all pretty much from different worlds or times. My world was still this Earth just...more modern in some ways I guess? I looked for ways to get involved--I work at a clinic run by imPorts.

[Is this a new arrival? He has to help.]

Hello. Do you need assistance?

I remember when I first arrived here a few months ago, I learned everything by pushing every button and see how it works. Then I have a few people show me. Technology here doesn't exist in my world either.

[ Cheerfully: ]

Paintballing. Monster truck shows. Karaoke. All extremely useful activities in getting up to speed with this weird and wonderful modern world.

I think the best thing to do would be to go to the library. There are sources there that can be provided by the staff, but sometimes, the best thing to do is pick a random book and start reading.

[Wait. Is there a universal translator here? Has she just assumed they can all speak and read English this whole time? She needs to check that out.]

Pretty much anything will get you started, be it a cookbook or a novel or even just a book about an animal native to here.
