Is this sort of social media traffic normal here? With all the little kiddo posts? From the sound of it the animal dudes don't seem to be used to it either so I'm gonna take a wild guess this sort of thing isn't usual, yo.

I was thinking about just using this to get to know some people, ask for music suggestions, info on local hangouts and that sort of thing, but I gotta say, that feels kind of tone deaf with all this going on, you dig?

That might be it. Though I can remember arriving here, I don't think it's anything like amnesia. Some things just sort of feel like a weird dream. The sort of dreams you get after bringing your favorite novel or drama.

Yeah, running around like a cultivator. Of course, that stuff is fine at conventions and on TikTok, but it would be weird running around like that on a daily basis. And that's what it feels like.

Guess it would depend on the context behind it. You never know, you might have had a pretty good reason! I've seen some hero costumes that are real out there for example.

Superheroes are terrible. They're all bulky and their designs are bland. The movies are OK if you like action sequences, but they lack good enemies and imaginative monsters. They also all boil down to punching people to solve all the problems, even when there are others with vast amount of magic and other supernatural skills, it's still always the biggest strongest guy who solves it by hitting people hard.

It's not even choreographed aesthetically!

Of course! Skintight outfits, more or less interchangeable, except whatever logo is on the chest or design is painted on. A good costume should be aesthetically pleasing while they're fighting. Something that flows with battle. Wuxia is a lot better about that.

Wuxia and Xianxia are definitely superior to western comics! Something can compare to the grace and elegance of a driven cultivator.

Well, one who's well written and relatable. The folly of those stories is right now they're too rife with wish-fulfillment power fantasies. Stallion protagonists getting wives every two seconds for no good reason, and yet is still somehow are supposed to be likable even as they kill everything around them and are so untouchable there isn't any suspense or concern about their success.

You really have a strong opinion on all this. Gotta say you're not wrong about some of it! Reality's pretty different though, heroes and villains in real life aren't nearly that simple.

I can't say much for reality, this is the only place with heroes and villains, unless you include mortal heroes like, some citizen who saves a kid from a river or something.

There's where you're wrong dude! This kind of thing's the norm where I'm from too. Little different here and there, enough that I keep getting thrown off but Pro Heroes working with the police to keep Villains under control's definitely something that's common place in more places than just this!

In fact, being in this world feels like the plot of some web novel or TV show. 'I Woke Up in Another World With Super Powers and I'm Not Alone!'

No, I am listed as a hero. But they have my name as Shen Qingqiu and then my actual name Shen Yuan in brackets next to it! They even have my internet handle.

The issue here is Shen Qingqiu is a fictional character from a web novel, he's the flat scum villain that tortures the protagonist and the root cause of them going down the black path of revenge.

Who wants that? If my super power is going to be a cultivator I want proper wish fulfillment. Sure he fits on the surface, but with such a poisonous soul? No! A character of true grace and goodness within them.
