I've been granted permission to lead a small expedition of National Guardsmen and imPorts to Alaska for reconnaissance and potential defense against Soviet aggression. I'm looking for volunteers.

This will be wilderness survival and we will not have backup. Rations and supplies will be what we can bring with us, and what we can gather. If you can't take those conditions, or if you can't follow my orders, don't waste my time.

If you think you can, I can use you.

But I believe you have answered my question. If the mission is being left to your discretion I would like to volunteer myself to your cause.

I have a longs history of military service in my universe, serving several roles from combat support, vanguard, to command positions. [To put it mildly.]

I am a proficient combantant and skilled in the art of war. And if I may say in all modesty, I'm quite the tactician.

Engineering, Marksmanship, Leadership, Tactics and Strategy, First Aid, Covert-Ops... I could go on if you'd like.

[Revan is a.... traveled man. If it wasn't for the official nature of this conversation, he normally wouldn't be this open about his talents. But this business isn't something for the modest.

I fear you've put me at a disadvantage. As you've stated, open channels are hardly the place to discuss strategy leaving me with, in good sense, little more than what is likely obvious observations.

But if that is your wish... [Revan turns to a nearby console, the camera angle swiveling with him. A few taps summons a small jumbled light display that quickly arranges into a holographic representation of the Alaskan coast.

A tap zooms into the last know location of the Russian Armada, represented by twenty or so rectangles off the coast.]

According to US reports this is the last known location of the Russian blockade fleet. Based on the details I believe them to be Reshitel'nyy-class destroyers bearing an array of anti aircraft and submersible defenses and, the largest threat, four sixteen inch cannon batteries.

With an average range of twenty miles, and being fourteen miles off the coast now, this is the their current threat range.

[A beep as he taps another key, spawning a circle around the ships position to demonstrate the range of the cannons. All landmass within the circumference turns danger red.]

Although their position may change at any moment, it would appear their current deployment offers them a clear route of inland ingress. If the ships are willing to cross into US waters their coverage zone increases dramatically to here.

[The ships move with the press of another button, painting more land red.]
