[the video opens on snow. she brushes back a stray hair, and manages a smile. it's almost natural-looking -- besides the slight, worried knit in her brows.] Hi. This looks like where all the imPort conversation goes on, so I thought it'd be polite to introduce myself.

I'm Snow White. Yes, the same Snow White you're thinking of, since it... doesn't really seem like keeping it a secret here is going to work. [her smile gets a little tighter around the edges.] Let's leave it at that I'm not the biggest fan of the Brothers Grimm, and I have enough trouble making woodland creatures file their taxes, let alone mop or dust. I'm much prouder of the work I do back home for our government than anything in the fairytales.

I can't say I'm happy about being here, and I imagine none of you are, either. But, since I don't seem to have a choice [is that a hint of bitterness???] I'll have make the best of it. I'm starting with getting to know all of you. [her voice is sincere on that note, at least, even if she doesn't sound super jazzed to be here.]

Well. [she pauses. being open with mundies(? do alien robots and superheroes really count as mundies) is a little uncomfortable, after so many centuries keeping those cards close to her chest.] Back home we weren't public with the fairytale part, so most of the job is keeping everyone low-profile and solving community conflicts internally. It can get difficult, when every Fable was anything from a frog to a king back home. [sometimes both!]

[fairytales? it certainly gives Jonathan pause while watching the post, but overall he's not as surprised as he ought to be. after all, not that long ago vampires had been the stuff of legends as well. fairytales weren't quite as far off.

Hime is just staring at the screen like everything is the best thing in life and she just met Santa Clause who gave her a pony that flies on rainbows because this is Snow White and wait a goddamn moment, she mentioned woodland creatures filing taxes, woodland creatures don't file taxes. Hime's sheer jubilation and exuberance melts into a small little frown because someone is testing her and it's probably this lady. ]

[ Not that she's a fairytale character. Quite the opposite, actually: the problem is that she's not the Snow White that Emma knows. Not even a little. Even at her worst, Mary Margaret had a hell of a lot more hope and optimistic idealism than this.

It feels like an extra punch in the gut, given how much Emma misses her mother. Given how much this woman is not her. It drives the knife deeper and leaves Emma frazzled, her voice tremulous. A slight wide-eyed girlishness to the slack disbelief in her expression. ]

It's a charge the government takes out of your income, so it can fund public works like roads or parks, and keep the government itself running, among other things. I don't know the specifics here, though. [he looks young she doesn't wanna scare him about money!!!!]

However, he knows how to pick his battles, and he's pragmatic enough to realize that denying it, publicly, is just a waste of time. Besides, there's a chance she might be working in government here, which means she might be working with him. He might as well play along for now, at least until he's certain that he can avoid her]

[she is sensing some tension here! well, not everyone was going to like it. as long as he keeps it civil she's perfectly capable of the same.

she does probably look totally deluded, but how do you not with a backstory like that. all of the explaining she's having to do is making her think that keeping themselves hidden from the mundy world at large really was the best choice.]

Nothing just yet. I've been assigned to organize the neighborhood watch, but I think I'd rather look for my own job when I get the chance. [someone's not big on being told what to do anymore.]
