Sadly, Captain Holiday was put under intensive care not long before I ended up here so I never got to talk to him. But I was hoping some of you might have gotten a chance to contact him before that. If you have, I'd appreciate if you could tell me about your conversations with him.

You don't have to tell me what the conversation was about, I understand a lot of them were confidential. [That word, he hates it. Lois might see it as a sign that she's pulling the right strings but Clark only sees it as a wall he cannot punch or fly over.]

It's really him I'm interested on. If you noticed anything weird in how he behaved, perhaps, or if he was acting completely normal.

[He pauses for a second. And then:]

I'd also be interested in talking with people who've been able to take a look at the Porter, or been in contact with it. I understand it's a privilege to be allowed near it?

That's the easy part, the other part is harder, especially now that the cat is out of the metaphorical bag. [ there's a wave of his hand and an exasperated sigh. ] You know, a fun little challenge.

No, but a ... [ there's a pause because this is the first time he's said this. ] Member of our team is.

[Clark notices the hesitation, but he doesn't know what it could mean.]

And would this member be willing to speak up and share what they remember?

Given the chance. As I said, it's not entirely of interest, and not at all out-of-this-realm surprising.

But if you insist.

It probably isn't, but if I'd appreciate it if they would humor me. At the worse we'll get some sort of quick recompilation of the information people are willing to give me, you never know what might make things click.

[Who's instantly wary? Clark's instantly wary.]

Depends on what that something is.

That "something" would be "share whatever comes from it with the rest of the class."

[He raises an eyebrow.] That's a given.

I'm a journalist. My job is to get the information out, not to gather everything I can get and then sit on top of it.

[ but Loki had kinda sorta helped construct that win. it was a pain, really. the whole feeling like you're dying thing. ]

He won a paintball game about half a year ago. The meeting with the Porter was the prize.

Thank you, Loki. I'll talk to him, see what he saw. [He wonders if this is the person that Kate has told him confirmed how the Porter reacted to magic.]

But if he's from your team, why did you want me to promise I'd share what I find out? Couldn't you ask him yourself?

You misunderstand—you wanted the information because you think there's a chance it may lead you somewhere. If it does, it would be nice to know where.

You have my promise that I will share. But the way you insist on that point makes me wonder if not many people do.

[ there's an exasperated sigh. ] It's debatable.

Most things are. But if we imPorts keep things to ourselves we're not getting out of here any time soon. So far everyone's been willing to share with me so I'd assumed everyone thought like that.

[ his conversation with Tony Stark crosses his mind and there's a pause, as if he's actively trying to recall it. ]

Well, you know, there are always some that have differing opinions for one reason or another. Primarily to do with resonance. You know, when the idea is out there it's out there, even to our alleged captors.

[andaway]

Again I remind you you're talking with a reporter. Putting information 'out there' is still my job at the end of the day. Obviously even I understand some things would put people in danger, but I don't think that's a single persons's decision to make.
