[ Hey gang, look who's alive and well and not crispy. Dorian's in his room, sitting up against his bed, looking at the camera. He...has very mixed feelings about all of this. Because he died, and they stayed dead and then got revived and none of this should work like that. So normally, he would be making some sort of grandiose "yes, I AM the Dorian Gray, I'm a sinnerrrrrr" blah blah blah kind of post.

But he died. And he really shouldn't have died. And he really shouldn't have died like that. And he shouldn't have come back to life, to proper life, so easily and with seemingly no repercussions. So have an oddly introspective Dorian, nodding at the camera ]

So, as you can see, I'm, um, alive. [ no shit. ] And I feel like I need to explain things.

[ Why did Lunatic target him for starters. Lunatic killed sinners, Lunatic killed Dorian, therefore Dorian was a sinner. Deduction at it's finest. And he KNOWS that he's just gonna have some Jojos up his ass about Dio (thanks buddy) and possibly some astute people have put together the fact that he is that Dorian Gray, and if not then he'll probably have to confess with regards to the sinners bit and this is way too much talking about the parts of himself that he doesn't want to talk about for Dorian's comfort level. ]

Ask away. If you've got a question about me or about what happened, I'll do my best to answer it. [ pause, and then ] Also, if you know someone who can get scorch marks out of carpets or wood, then please tell me their number. This is unsightly. [ and a reminder that guess what! You died! which Dorian doesn't really want. ]

All right. [ If only his moments of brilliance were more consistent, but it wouldn't save his life or anyone else's if they were. ]

By the way, it's a shame you didn't get to bid. Better luck next time, yeah?

I suppose this means I'll have to come up with a wonderful date idea for us on my own, won't it?

Probably. [ He says with a small chuckle. ] What are you interested in, if you get the chance? If you could have what you want?

If I could have what I want...well, to start with, a nice quiet dinner with just the two of us. Then I suppose we'd talk and see where the night took us.

That sounds positively charming. We should do it sometime. [ Should. But they won't. ]

But you have plenty of adoring fans, girlfriends and boyfriends, to attend to. Should I expect to be penciled in next month, maybe at another charity event? Or the next swear-in?

Well you're more special than that! I can pencil you in...mmm, whenever you want, to be honest.

[ ... Despite his excuses and himself, Simon blushes slightly and still feels flattered. He laughs. ]

Oh, thank you. [ He can't think of another excuse offhand, hums in thought. ] Just you and me, a private dinner... I'll see about it, then.

I promise you, it'll be worth the while. [ said with an obviously teasing tone. ]

I'm inclined to believe it if your girlfriends and boyfriends keep coming back for more. [ Musing in response. ] Which I'm sure they do, after all.

You are Dorian Gray. [ Stated matter-of-factly, as if to remind himself the trouble he's walking into. ] The warning is right there in the name; I really should've known it.

[ Simon knows he should just walk away, but he won't. He's too drawn to Dorian to turn away, and Dorian hasn't truly done him any wrong. Not yet, anyway. ]

You know, speaking of the others—because I know there are others, you off-handedly mentioned as much at the swear-in—would you mind letting me know what I'm getting into? I mean, who else's company is worth Dorian Gray's while?

[ If possible, he cannot let things get serious with the other man. Or, he really shouldn't. And he certainly shouldn't let things get intimate. ]

Do you want me to kiss and tell? [ said with a joking little grin. ]

It's nothing serious. It's just flirting. You really don't have to worry about anybody else.

That's not what I— [ He laughs, feeling abashed. Some part of him is nervous and even a little high-strung; the rest of him struggles to put his worries to rest. ] I didn't say that. Or, I didn't mean it like that.

[ See? Nothing serious, Simon attempts to assure himself, even if he isn't wholly convinced... which might be why he wants to hold out for as long as possible, maybe.

Just now, Simon realizes that his feelings are confusing, and that he doesn't know what exactly he wants or expects from Dorian. Dorian Gray, of all people. ]

But all right. I suppose there isn't any harm in it. [ He relents with a shrug. ] Until next time, then.

[ chalk this one up as a victory for Dorian. He smiles, giving Simon a smile that (hopefully) reads as 'see? there's nothing to worry about. Everything is just fine.' ]
