[After the last few days, there is a single temptation in Kate's mind: to put this off. To let it rest. She's earned it. Then again, she'd end up guilting herself and worrying about it too much, so it's worth getting it out of the way. Besides, all of it is important, and she wants to help.

So, it's back to the daily grind.]

Hey, everyone, a few things of note! First, I've updated the FAQ to reflect a few questions from you guys, as well as the recent bills that passed (or failed to pass). Hopefully, this clears up some things, and as always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

On to the cleverly numbered points!

1. Shepard and I spent the last couple of months looking for information on some of the people from Annie's list. I call it Annie's list only in short hand.

I've compiled that information in this document here. Hopefully, that will add some light to things. Whether these people are Hornets or not is yet to be made clear, but I do want to draw everyone's attention to Eleni Wang and the fact that she might be in Greece. If you're up for going to Greece to ask her some questions, I think you should do it.

2. Unrelated to this, my team is looking for some new members! We call ourselves the Young Avengers, and we're a branch of a much larger team of heroes from back home. While this won't give you officially sanctioned Avengers-status due to the circumstances of being here, we are looking for a few extra hands.

The only conditions we have are that you're at least seventeen (though we can be a little flexible on this point), and that you're willing to work with us as a team to do some good. We all play to our strengths, and we'd love to work with some of the heroes here moving forward. As a team, we're a little less "you must do this" and "you must go here. Also, we're very fun, and you can annoy Loki a lot.

If you're interested, you can either drop me a line here or contact me privately with your credentials.

Oh, and I figure it's implicit in our name, but we're generally looking for younger heroes.

3. My twenty-second birthday is this Saturday, and I've gotten one of my favorite diners to agree to let me throw my party there. It's intended to be a less rambunctious gathering, especially with Christmas right around the corner. If you know me, you're probably invited. Please use your judgment wisely! Also, gifts are not required. Sorry for the short notice.

Right. When you came back, you had only the psychometry and not your other ability. I think I'll ask around more, then.
So, you and your best friend were ported out simultaneously, or roughly around the same time at best?
And in your experience, you couldn't use whatever knowledge you'd gained here back in your home world?
Or is it that you can't quite remember having that knowledge when you went back?

That's right. And I had a lot of memories (which I will not talk about, just a head's up). I did literally live out my life, so the whole "crap I'm here again" and memory collision happened.

We weren't Ported out around the same time. I just knew that he Ported out when I couldn't see him. Sorry for the confusion!

And no one can use that knowledge. You just don't remember it.

Oh, so your best friend was ported out when you were sleeping. Gone, just like that.
And so that's something of a first-hand experience, I guess.
It's a shame that we can't remember the things that happen here back at home.
I'd imagine some of the knowledge would be pretty useful.
But it'd be too easy using these experiences like a cheat sheet for our lives, wouldn't it?
Shame, really.

It sucks not being able to hold on to that knowledge. I'm not used to it, and there is likely a specific reason for it. I'm guessing "it could cause a lot of problems outside" is the big one. After all, Lachesis, if she is doing all of that (and I think she is) likely can't fend off attacks from the outside. And I know people who could do it. I don't know if we could use these experiences for a cheat sheet, but if you think it would be that way, then that's your perspective!

And it is very American! Sometimes, I'm an embarrassment.

[Also, she does have expensive tastes on top of the bacon, pancake and burger loving. It's just that she can't afford them.]

I don't claim to know much about the Moirai beyond their functions as depicted in art and mythology.
But if it's true that she cannot defend herself, then it does seem reason enough to spirit that knowledge away.
I recently decided to keep a record of things that might be useful, as if it will help me back where I'm from.
Though, we can't take our knowledge and experiences with us, let alone material possessions. Am I right?
Still, I think I just want to believe I can change the situation that I left behind. We'll see how that goes if I'm ported out and return again.

There's no shame in it, I assure you. If I'm going to live in America, I might as well really live it.

I've heard whispers of those who would like to change going back without nothing, but obviously, that's easier said than done. And in some cases, it could break the space-time continuum. Of course, I don't know a lot about the space-time continuum. But if we're literally planted back right where we came from, it's something to consider.

That said, I think that using a book to understand Lachesis might be naive. I might run around with Loki, but even I know not to look to the Prose Edda to understand him.

And milkshakes! I almost forgot.

I see. All of this is certainly complex. Nevertheless, I'll keep the record about.
If it isn't somehow helpful to me back at home, it should still be useful for notes and things here.

I can understand that as well. Any depiction, written or spoken or artistic rendition, falls short when placed alongside its very real counterpart.
It serves to say I know little to nothing about them other than seeing and hearing tales and myths and legends.
And some, or most, of those hardly provide an outline to hint at their counterpart's true nature and potential.

This isn't by any chance a dry event, is it? After all, one's twenty-second really shouldn't be.
Especially since you're not going over the top, given the upcoming holidays and all, it's the least you could do.

Keeping on top of things here is important. Hence why I do half of what I do at all. I don't see any point in giving up.

Also, many of those depictions were written many centuries ago.

I don't plan dry events! It might be a low-key event, but that's one thing that wouldn't be.

So it is. There are always lots of things going on.
And I quite admire how you share with the general public.
At least, in terms of getting about in a place like this.

Even updated and modern depictions are subject to such pitfalls.
Relevance doesn't necessarily denote accuracy, after all.

Oh good. Then they wouldn't have to be virgin milkshakes.
I was going to say. So far, it's shaping up to be a splendid affair.

Thanks, I'm hardly the only one. A few of us have been at it for a while, and we learned on our own that not sharing ended up throwing a few of us in a pickle.

Of course. Updated also speaks to the society in which things were written, not the original story itself. And given many people treat myths like myths, that's something.

So it seems, though you have quite a compilation that, so far, is the most obviously available.
While I've seen a few... other things, I guess, I might still need some catching up on the political front.

Yeah, and it's probably because, as far as they know, that's exactly what they are.
A myth, a story they can elaborate on or alternate as they see fit.

Oh, I'd say it's more that things were quiet since you turned up. We had a lot going on in October and in previous months. Less activity = less to talk about. Of course, I got lucky in that it worked out in compiling up to date information.

And right, exactly. That's why Disney can make movies about Hercules, even if Hercules was a guy who ran around my world and hit on people left and right. He's an Avenger!

That explains it, yeah. Some people at the last swear-in event mentioned bombings and things.
Not necessarily in great detail considering the swarms of press and media about. Or, that was the case when I was asking around.
I recall there being some sort of file leaks... though it appears there's some question as to their veracity.
Then there's that recent information about the Porter shutting down, but I've seen you openly challenge her source(s)...
Otherwise, there have been some requests for information from VIPs, so to speak. Or to talk to at least one of them.
Maybe I need to work more on gathering information before making anything of it.

Wow. Are his abilities accurate to the mythological Hercules?
Not to a "T", per se. But somewhere in that ballpark?
So your group is, what, the younger version of the group he's in?

Having a good foothold in the knowledge is going to help if you're inclined to involve yourself in investigations. And I'm challenging Freddie's source because the person in question openly admitted to her that they didn't know what the scientists were talking about. That Freddie ran with it anyway tells you a lot about Freddie Lounds.

And yeah, they seemed like it! Probably down to a T, but maybe more godly than the Disney movies hint. And our name has more complicated roots than just being the younger version, but that's the simple, condensed reason.
