[After the last few days, there is a single temptation in Kate's mind: to put this off. To let it rest. She's earned it. Then again, she'd end up guilting herself and worrying about it too much, so it's worth getting it out of the way. Besides, all of it is important, and she wants to help.

So, it's back to the daily grind.]

Hey, everyone, a few things of note! First, I've updated the FAQ to reflect a few questions from you guys, as well as the recent bills that passed (or failed to pass). Hopefully, this clears up some things, and as always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

On to the cleverly numbered points!

1. Shepard and I spent the last couple of months looking for information on some of the people from Annie's list. I call it Annie's list only in short hand.

I've compiled that information in this document here. Hopefully, that will add some light to things. Whether these people are Hornets or not is yet to be made clear, but I do want to draw everyone's attention to Eleni Wang and the fact that she might be in Greece. If you're up for going to Greece to ask her some questions, I think you should do it.

2. Unrelated to this, my team is looking for some new members! We call ourselves the Young Avengers, and we're a branch of a much larger team of heroes from back home. While this won't give you officially sanctioned Avengers-status due to the circumstances of being here, we are looking for a few extra hands.

The only conditions we have are that you're at least seventeen (though we can be a little flexible on this point), and that you're willing to work with us as a team to do some good. We all play to our strengths, and we'd love to work with some of the heroes here moving forward. As a team, we're a little less "you must do this" and "you must go here. Also, we're very fun, and you can annoy Loki a lot.

Oh, and I figure it's implicit in our name, but we're generally looking for younger heroes.

3. My twenty-second birthday is this Saturday, and I've gotten one of my favorite diners to agree to let me throw my party there. It's intended to be a less rambunctious gathering, especially with Christmas right around the corner. If you know me, you're probably invited. Please use your judgment wisely! Also, gifts are not required. Sorry for the short notice.

[ Which is 8 times 2, what a lovely number. He doesn't mind being sixteen at all. Next year will be a different story. ]

Oh please, you don't think "age limit" popped out of nowhere, did you?

Miss Kate's request referenced more the ability to work as a team to help other people, not... party. But if that's required, I suppose I can.

You at least have to look the part. If I start handing out fake IDs to the ones that don't, well..... there will be suspicions.

We're really moving quite far from the initial request stipulations...

It's EXACTLY within the perimeters. There IS the little tidbit about age in there that you seem to keep forgetting. After all, bringing a gaggle of unruly teenagers to an outing seems more like a chaperoned field trip and less a roaring, drunken party.

[ Kid is getting very peculiar vibes from this conversation, as perhaps the open invitation was perhaps less open than it had originally seemed. ]

Then I'll leave the judgment of my suitability to your discretion. I take it by the questioning that there's no probationary period for something like this?

We'll probably do a probationary party sometime in the near future to see if one of us can convince you to dance.

As it is, the age is actually the reason why this is a sticking point for us. We want to make sure that anyone who's already seventeen is actually on their way to eighteen. It's a big part of the "we have fun" condition that felt tacky to overtly say.

[ Well he's... not looking forward to that part so much, but he'll see how it goes. Can't he just collar a criminal for you instead, Kate? ]

Perhaps, but it would lead to less obfuscation. I can continue to work on my own, if that's easier for you. I don't want to put you in a position of discomfort.

Nah, we'll talk it over. I just can't give you a sure yes right now.

A team that works together plays together.

And we play pretty hard.

It's not something I do regularly, but I can certainly... try.

[ Liz and Patty tell him pretty regularly that he's a bit of a buzzkill, but he's not nearly as stuck up as he was before they joined him. ]

Well, we do lack a buzzkill member since David left. I'll have to discuss it with the others.

[Anyone who says "... try" about partying is obviously a buzzkill. No two-gunned ladies needed.]

It doesn't have to do with your presumed competence. It's just largely our approach to bonding.

It's truly fine, Kate. I understand very well having to put the cohesion of a team above personal preference.
