[His massive castle city of cards that takes up almost his entire cell is finished, and visible. Infact, that's all you see is towers and towers of cards to the point that it's difficult to tell this is a Government Holding Cell at all. Quite the feat, one of utmost patience and concentration. Perhaps it- and the few visitations he's had are all that's keeping him from going over the edge in here. Though, that's pushing it. Were his Nen active and his aura accessible, his bloodlust would be felt all around him and over a wide distance. You can hear it in his speech, how tired and strained he is, though it's obviously he's speaking through a slim smile.]

What is your New Years resolution? [Something he's learned is quite a thing in this world, though doesn't everyone make goals for themselves? Guess people need a reason for everything they do- effort is quite difficult to come by when disinterest lingers around.]

I'd like to know what sort of things people here work for. [Like how he worked to finish this ridiculous town of cards, for example. Certainly showing a lot of effort there- or boredom.]

[Kind of~ as Yuri's not especially into explosions. He prefers the tidiness of his fire. His penchant for verbal vomit can be kind of messy, however. Those with fiery inclinations tend towards that, it seems. It's their passionate natures, however twisted or subdued they often are or would have others believe.]

I believe rehabilitation is possible for some people. It would be irresponsible to claim otherwise.

[But as he listens to Hisoka's confession...

A fist forms unseen somewhere, knuckles white. Chest tight. Shoulders rigid and eyes hot, even though the fire hasn't yet touched them. So close, though. To spilling over...because he's missed this one. This one is out of his reach as long as he is behind bars. That's a rather painful dig.]

A murderer? [There's nothing to his tone. It's so...flat.] Do you feel remorse for the lives you've taken? For the crimes you committed? And for any reason besides the fact that it landed you in the cell where you sit now.

[Safe in prison. Gosh that's a new one. Believe him, he'd much rather be out there where you can "get him".]

[Fire's never been his own thing, it's too- final, not versatile enough. Showy enough for his tastes, but he'd rather something with- more usefulness to it, something he can be clever with. But the whole 'purging flame' thing? Oh A+ for theatrics.]

Hm. [A smile, huffing a breath through his nose. What a question. Of course, he'll get the answer he wants to hear, but not the exact tone of voice he wants. Enough to fool most, but someone like Yuri will pick apart the confidence backing his words, the complete understanding of what he's done and yet- lack of remorse for it. Those people were weak. Nothing. All they were were like a snack to keep the churning of his stomach at bay. A cigarette to make him stop wanting something harder.]

What I've done can't be reversed, those lives are gone now, and not only have I snuffed them, but I've caused their families pain as well. [What even is a family.] I've learned my error, any positive emotion I felt from the crimes was something purely part of the passion of it- ah- an illusion. I made a mistake I won't ever again.

[Not versatile? Just wait until you see what he can do with it, Hisoka. He'll show you some magic that will give your title as Magician a run for its money.]

You said you seek to better yourself?

[He believes it, but he doesn't believe Hisoka means it in the way he might want people to think. The way a criminal betters himself is different from the way an ordinary man does. The root of his desire to be better is one born from greed...a longing to have things that are not his to begin with.]

I would suggest, then, that you begin with telling the truth when you are asked a question.

[Please and thank you. You say that like he doesn't want it.]

Much of what I say sounds that way. But believe me when I say I don't have time to prepare speeches. [Chuckles.] Even when time seems to be all I have.

Someone who lacks the forethought to plan carefully [though that doesn't seem true, either. look at that castle of cards. easier to believe you're so full of shit it's disgusting, hisoka.] is hardly worth the risk.

Risking things for another despite worries you may have falls under trust, I believe. But you're right, what reason do we have to trust anyone once we arrive here? I don't expect you to understand me, nor do I expect you to trust me. Who are you anyway? Does your name even matter? So far who you are and what you've done hasn't impacted me at all, you're just as much worth risk as I am.

[A brief pause, during which soft taps upon keys can be faintly heard, and then...]

You're Hisoka? [It's not a name that means anything to him. Or, it didn't. Now that he knows what kind of person Hisoka is, however, and the sorts of things he is responsible for having done, the meaning of the name has changed significantly. It's not one Yuri will allow himself to forget.] Trust is something that must be earned, Hisoka. It is not freely given, or at least...it should not be. It should especially not be given freely to those with questionable track records.

[He pauses. Tucks hair behind an ear unseen, eyes closing. Still too little known about this one. He'll...have to research. Have to ask around. Who has he killed? What were the circumstances? He doubts Hisoka will tell him...not like this. Face-to-face?

...wouldn't be the first criminal Yuri has visited in the imPort prison. Wouldn't even be the second.]

Are you permitted visitors?

[Yuri Petrov. He'll keep that in mind, especially since this man see,s so very entertaining so far. Easy to pick at, opinionated, strong minded. He likes that.]

[The pause is meat with silence, he's responding here and there to others after all, but for the most part keeps his conversations separate, especially those that involve directly speaking. It helps that much of this is done mentally through his tattoo.]

I am. [Not questioning the question. It's easy enough to look over the network after all, especially for other imPorts.]

I said nothing about deserving it. Deserving it or not, we all have worries going in. [Maybe. He usually doesn't. But then he usually only has to trust himself in any situation, which he does.]

[The second question throws him off guard though, there's a pause.]

We do? I think only those of us with anything to worry about are inclined to do much worrying.

[The tone is dismissive, but when he speaks again...well, there's a note of interest. It's faint, but it's there. Has to be or he wouldn't even have bothered asking about visiting.]

Would you be opposed to speaking face-to-face?

Ah- no, I welcome any of my visitors. [Even if he's not the best looking right now, he feels the presence he still has comes out better in person. So he makes due.]

Should I be expecting someone soon?

Yes. Tomorrow morning.

[That will give Yuri time to settle back into his apartment after having been out of town for some time, and it will also give them both time to prepare all that needs preparing. Things to say...appearances... Not that Yuri cares at all what Hisoka looks like...but if anyone understands wanting to look their best, he does.]

I will be there promptly when visiting hours begin.

[Unlike some people, he's a bit of a stickler when it comes to punctuality.]

[What is punctuality?]

Oh early, excuse me if I'm not awake when you arrive. [Because he sees no reason to wait around for you, pft. Who are you even. He wasn't on time for CHROLLO he ain't gonna be for you.]

If you're asleep, I will have the guard wake you.

[The thing about prison is that...you don't really have the luxury of a schedule you prefer. And Yuri knows this. Is prepared to take advantage of it.

He almost leaves it at that before adding...]

Is there anything you would like me to bring?

Hm. [Then wake him up, whatever. Shrug!]

Yes. To help with passing the time.

Another deck of cards, perhaps? [Is he joking? It's difficult to tell. There's no humor at all in his voice.] Reading material?

It seems fair. You've agreed to a visit. It's the least I can do.

[Because he really gives a shit about providing you with leisure.]

[Wow buddy, he's reading your tone, or what slight tone you have perfectly. But he'll just smile off screen.]

You're visit will be enough to satiate me. I couldn't ask for more~ [He doesn't want anything from you, just to get a good look.]

[Not hard to read. He's not bothering to hide anything. Sometimes there's no point in subtlety. Especially if the other party is astute.]
