monster_sanGood evening, everyone! Although it's late for this year, I'd like to hold a Tanabata festival in Heropa this weekend.
Tanabata is based the legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi, lovers trying to meet across the river of the Milky Way. This difficulty was caused largely because Orihime's father--the ruler of the heavens--wanted his daughter to be happy, but not at the cost of her not weaving him all the cloth he wanted of her. And to be fair, he didn't like Hikoboshi letting his cows wander all over the heavens, either. They can meet just one day a year, if she finishes her work. And if her father remembers that they need a bridge to cross.
Here in the earthly realm, it's celebrated by hanging wishes on a wish tree, gathering with family and friends, putting up lots of decorations, and eating good food. Please feel welcome to come and celebrate, write a wish for the next year, and enjoy yourself.
[ooc: will be putting an open log up for this on Saturday!]
