[Clears his throat. This is going to be a difficult post to make]

Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth speaking.

[The young man’s voice is clear, but stiff, with a harsh edge to it that hints at the anger bubbling underneath his skin. He represses this rage, attempting to remain composed and professional]

Earlier I received a tip from a confidential source- [Sorry Kay, he's not going to drag you out in the open, it’s too risky] - regarding a potential lead in the Lunatic case.

[A deep breath as he steels himself. This is a damning accusation to make and he knows it, and there’s no going back if he’s wrong]

Yuri Petrov, imPort advertising manager, has two files, with two different sets of abilities… and two different aliases. According to one, he’s been graced with an immunity to alcohol, but according to other? Pyrokinesis, with the ability to control and manipulate blue-green flames, specifically. Sound familiar? [A note of bitterness seeps into his tone, but he moves on quickly] And, if that’s not enough to convince you, there’s his alias, printed right on the file. Lunatic.

[A short pause follows, just enough to let the information sink in for any potential listeners.]

Unfortunately, my source only caught a mere glimpse of the files, but when I tried to confirm the discrepancy with Petrov, he was nowhere to be found. And, as much as I wish we had time to gather more information, we cannot afford to wait any longer for a response! If anyone listening has further information regarding Petrov, Lunatic, or their current whereabouts, I implore you to share anything and everything you know. With Lunatic on the move, it could mean the difference between life... and death.

[With that, he ends his little speech, and waits for a response from his fellow imPorts]

[Will has a key to Yuri Petrov's place. He's had it for a while now, right after he had his business trip. The one Will didn't ask about, just went over to take care of the plants left behind. They've...had differences of opinion before. Big ones. But Will has plenty of conflict with people who aren't serial killers in hiding and when Miles says Sound familiar?—damn straight it does. Too familiar.

Freddie Lounds also had a source, after all.

Will rarely uses anything but text, but this isn't the usual, so it won't be treated as such.]

A tip. From a confidential source. [So, so unimpressed over here. He does not at all sound the same as when he last talked to Edgeworth, that much is for damn certain.] No pictures. No evidence...just the word of a source who, by your admission, only caught a mere glimpse.

[Uh huh.]

What are we supposed to find enough to convince in this?

[Wherever Will is, a crow will be winging his way toward him. If there is a window in the way, the bird will tap against the glass with his beak.

And if Will takes a closer look at said crow, he will notice a small message container strapped to his leg. The message reads, in cramped handwriting:]

Can I come over? I can explain.

[Edgeworth seethes silently, gritting his teeth, his face turning a deep red. He could give more details, but- no. Not at the expense of Kay's confidentiality.]

The man has two files, Graham, both with his name on it. Don't you find that even the slight bit suspicious?

[His tone's changed as well. There is no vulnerability, there is no uncertainty. He's not yelling, not yet; his tone is dreadfully quiet right now. But it's sharp, his words ready to cut at a moment's notice]

[Don't worry, Miles. He's not seeking a name, he's not fishing for that. He's just pointing out the lack of anything concrete. At least, when Will Graham was locked up, he had a house littered with physical evidence to back it. This is...well, it's hearsay.

Which he's also intimately familiar with. He has seen how badly things go when people get one tiny morsel of what they think is the truth and run full speed ahead with it, don't stop to follow any real procedure, don't listen to anything but what they think is right. He has seen it in his own house, that does not need to repeat here in any capacity.]

I do find it suspicious. [But, and here he speaks quicker. It's not rushed, but Will not biting into this immediately is not born out of him slacking] I also find it suspicious that Yuri Petrov's refusal to answer within your time frame is apparently all it takes for you to go dragging his name through mud, after which you implore us for information [Lunatic plays judge, jury, and executioner with the lives of those he's deemed to be sinners. Right here and now, it seems to Will that Miles Edgeworth is peachy keen to play judge, jury, and executioner with someone's reputation, and that's not comforting.] when you've come up very short.

[Don't go to a 100+ person potluck with a half dozen crappy Walmart cookies, that's rude.]

And what was I supposed to do, Will Graham? Sit idle? Wait for a potential killer to make his grand escape? He had his chance to answer for himself - he had a chance to defend himself. But let's say, for the sake of argument, that he isn't Lunatic. The file still shows that he has a clear connection to him, which leaves two other options - either he's become a target, and his life is at risk, or he's decided to take care of Lunatic himself. So, even if he isn't the killer, it's still in our best interests to find him as quickly as possible!

[Will's quiet for a moment, which doesn't necessarily mean anything good is about to follow.]

You could've contacted his acquaintances to see if they knew where he was. You could have taken this to proper authorities instead of coming in with a call for vigilante justice. [Wait for it.] I would have assumed what you were supposed to do was follow some sort of procedure before you brought down the gavel and demanded others do the same, but—perhaps that's how you're used to doing it where you come from.

[ie. "supposed to do your fucking job, I guess?"

Hopefully Baltimore is still out of their Goddamn minds and can't cut in here.]

...

[The worst part? Will Graham is right. These are things he could have done. Things he should have done. And the knowledge stings.

...but no, the evidence is too damning. Not what he's brought to the table, but everything else that's been contributed, as well. It's not enough to hang Yuri, but it's too much to ignore, either. This can't be coincidence]

And have you seen everyone else's contributions, Graham?

[Oh, bless his heart.]

The contributions that are falling back on feelings? [No offense, Giorno, but using words like seems and mentions of someone being tense can go either way. Watch Will use them...the other way.] The ones you didn't have before you stated, without a doubt in your mind, that he is Lunatic?

What I stated was what I saw on the files, and the fact that Petrov has yet to say a single word about any of this.

[Stops himself, realizing he's about to let the cat out of the bag]

Are you sure you want us to share everything we know? You seem to be having difficulty keeping a bare-bones story straight in the first place.

[The more Will speaks, the more Edgeworth wants to scream until his voice is hoarse. But no. He's better than that]

One slip of the tongue- [One small, insignificant, unimportant will you quit harping on that you nitpicky-] -does not negate what I know, nor do your petty insults. If you have anything to share, if you wish to help prove Petrov's innocence, then go ahead, be my guest.

[Better? Oh, he's not looking anywhere near better right now. It's the use of petty that ends up getting Will's hackles raised more than anything else, and anything calm or steady has been thrown out the window.]

Me? Are you unaware of the presumption of innocence, that a defendant is innocent until there is solid evidence to proof guilt? The onus is not on me to prove innocence when there's nothing to prove guilt! This is not legal, this is not ethical, [BOOM] and there is nothing here to show that you do know what you're talking about. All you've given is hearsay, which doesn't usually do so well in court, does it?

[Sure sounds like Edgeworth hit something personal, other than Will and Yuri being...friends...ish. Yuri picked well with Will. Not only has he managed to befriend someone who knows the law (and how to give it the middle finger or abide by it without having too many crises either way), he's managed to find one hell of a dog. Ears back, teeth bare, more wolf than bloodhound when it comes to defense. Rabid or just pissed off? Wait and see if that spit gets frothy.]

Do not presume to tell me what I do and do not know, Graham! And...

[Seethes]

This is not a courtroom. It's like I've been trying to tell you, I am trying to get more information on the matter! So you can either contribute or you can see yourself out.

[Ha, not a courtroom. It might as well be. As much as Edgeworth might claim to simply want information, he already has a conclusion in mind regarding Yuri's connection to Lunatic]

[Good thing it's not a courtroom, last one Will was in had to call off his trial because people kept getting murdered in spectacularly complicated and horrible ways. Still, Edgeworth makes a good point...even if Will's going to do that in a way he probably didn't intend. Enough talk, good God. Will does sound like he's had enough talk, regains that calm, steady, flat tone. Somebody done made up his mind.]

It's fair to presume I could contribute much better if I did see myself out. Thank you for the permission.

[That I didn't need. But he hangs up and, actually, means it. He'll have a talk with Kay and get his ass in gear to Yuri's place. This mutt prefers to hunt alone rather than with a pack anyway.]
