Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth speaking.

[The young man’s voice is clear, but stiff, with a harsh edge to it that hints at the anger bubbling underneath his skin. He represses this rage, attempting to remain composed and professional]

Earlier I received a tip from a confidential source- [Sorry Kay, he's not going to drag you out in the open, it’s too risky] - regarding a potential lead in the Lunatic case.

[A deep breath as he steels himself. This is a damning accusation to make and he knows it, and there’s no going back if he’s wrong]

Yuri Petrov, imPort advertising manager, has two files, with two different sets of abilities… and two different aliases. According to one, he’s been graced with an immunity to alcohol, but according to other? Pyrokinesis, with the ability to control and manipulate blue-green flames, specifically. Sound familiar? [A note of bitterness seeps into his tone, but he moves on quickly] And, if that’s not enough to convince you, there’s his alias, printed right on the file. Lunatic.

[A short pause follows, just enough to let the information sink in for any potential listeners.]

Unfortunately, my source only caught a mere glimpse of the files, but when I tried to confirm the discrepancy with Petrov, he was nowhere to be found. And, as much as I wish we had time to gather more information, we cannot afford to wait any longer for a response! If anyone listening has further information regarding Petrov, Lunatic, or their current whereabouts, I implore you to share anything and everything you know. With Lunatic on the move, it could mean the difference between life... and death.

[With that, he ends his little speech, and waits for a response from his fellow imPorts]

[Wild Tiger, huh. He could use this info, seeing as he was one of the imPorts who actively donned a costume and went around doing real actual superhero things. She could trust him with her identity and information.]

I was at the courthouse. I bumped into Judge Petrov along the way, and he accidentally dropped his things. While I tried to help him pick them up, I found his real file.

[Kotetsu swallows.]

Are you sure you read it right? Maybe it was a case file on Lunatic, or his personal notes or something. He's from our world, and all, and he's interested in that investigation as much as anybody. How long did you see it for?

[Judging from the tone of her voice, it's clear that Kay is not making this up.]

I saw two files when his things fell. They were there in plain sight, and I tried to make sure I picked them up last so I could take more than one look at them.

[He doesn't think she is. That's the worst thing about this. He knows Kay isn't a liar. He just desperately, desperately hopes she's wrong.]

Maybe it's a mock-up, or--or something like that. Or. A misprint he didn't wanna throw out because something like Tattlecrime could find it. We shouldn't just, we can't just...accuse him without hearing what he's gotta say for himself. Did you ask him about what you saw?

But why would a file be misprinted?

A-Anyway, he just told me that one was erroneous, glared at me, and left.

I dunno, why can a machine make files about our powers and aliases and medical history in the first place???

[Maybe a little. High-pitched.]

And maybe it's not even from the government--remember he fake files from the Tattlecrime leak? We know there were more than just the ones that went to Freddie Lounds. Maybe that's one of 'em and it got confiscated and given back to 'im. That could be what he meant about the erroneous one.

[Though why wouldn't he clarify??? Why won't he pick up the phone?!]

If it's really just wrong, then why was he in a hurry to leave after I saw it? It was only the two of us then. No one else saw it.

[There's a longer pause after that one. Yuri's reaction is indeed more incriminating than the file itself.]

...Maybe he got spooked. It's a pretty heavy thing to be accused of.

So spooked that he'd glare at me after I helped him pick up his stuff? Sorry, Mr. Wild Tiger, but that's really suspicious.

I dunno. [Repeated again, a little more helplessly.]

People do dumb shit when they're freaked. [That, at least, he knows from experience--both sides of it, even.]

Then someone should talk to him. Someone he knows. Someone he wouldn't be freaked out in front of.

I'm trying to get ahold of him right now.

[But he won't succeed until tomorrow bc Yuri's dead oops :')]

Let me know if you pick him up, okay? If this really isn't his fault, maybe he'll talk to someone he knows about it.

Yeah, I will. He's...a friend, so I'm really hoping this is some kinda misunderstanding.

Thanks. Right now I'm suspicious, but he can still come forward and explain himself if he's really innocent...

Or at least, what most of us want. The Porter doesn't care if it brings in killers, after all.
