[Back'date' this to a little earlier in the day. Rin's pumped himself up, did a little running, now he's ready to present his plan. As last minute as it is, Gamagori deserves this. The guy works so hard and is so bad awkward with people sometimes. A good friend like Rin is pretty much obligated to smooth out any furrowed brows.
Biggest bonus: he has his own place.]
Yo. The elections are coming up, and this guy, Ira Gamagori-- he's running for ambassador of Nonah. If you aren't sure who you're voting for yet, I'm throwing a support party at my place tonight. I'm in the north government apartment complex-- you can't miss it. It starts at seven.
[A sharp (literally, he has jagged shark teeth) to the camera before it cuts out. He needs to finish up his snack purchasing.
ooc: party log can be found here, and ooc plotting post is here.]

Hey, I don't think I can vote here, but I can still go the party, right?

[Boy hasn't actually reviewed all the rules there.
Regardless:]
Yeah, it's open.

[ girlfriend here hasn't actually reviewed all the rules either. nevertheless, PARTY. ]
But the party! Do I need to bring anything?

Matsuoka... [A tight lipped sound to his voice, his expression to match.]
Thank you...
Do you need any assistance preparing the event? [Embarrass him why don't you, he's only just heard of this now!]

permatext. also i'm sorry this will probably get dumb quickly.
IT'S THAT FUCKING NUTCASE AGAIN ARE YOU KIDDING]
I think you're going to need a lot more than a party to get that guy in a publicly elected office.

A support party is actually a pretty good idea. [And might help to win some people over, at least.]
video
[Don't take it personally that he hasn't heard of you; Gama and him haven't gossiped about romance yet. That will be a really terrible conversation when it happens.]
video
Well, I should come either way. It'd probably be weird if I didn't. [Since this... is a support party for her boyfriend and all.]

So people around here really do vote for important official people? Even people such as ambassadors? Bastion, but I wonder how that would work back home... [He's pretty sure quite a lot of officials would be absolutely toast if people were actually allowed to have an opinion on them that counted.] Does that mean that just about any average man jack on the street can run for such an office, should he wish?
video;
But you'll want to know what you're doing. Ira's a good fit.
[Do not inspire competition, Rin. It's a skillset you've got down like pat, but don't do it.]

I wasn't trying to imply anything about your man, kid. I'm assuming if one is figuratively or literally unable to figure out which end to wear your pants on, that kind of thing comes out quickly enough and you get shot down.
And of course, festivities are clearly a great way to gain political advantage no matter which world you're in.
That's cool. I don't know if I can vote for him, but I'd like to support him somehow. Is there anything I can do? Besides going to this party.
