[ the idea of texting people makes piper's head hurt, so video it is. she's just going to visualize skyping with her dad or chiron, frankly. this is how she is coping, shut up about it. demigods and technology aren't the best of friends, but she'll cope with that, too. despite the grumpy expression on her face and her general ruffled appearance, she radiates an aura of beauty that is impossible to miss.

her hair is tied up in a messy braid and her apprehensive eyes don't seem to be able to settle on a color, changing from brown to blue to amber to violet to copper to every other eye color imaginable like the shifting of a kaleidoscope. the outside of cape canaveral is her backdrop, twisting behind her as she paces back and forth, cheeks pink either with exertion or a little bit of hypothermia.

and for some reason she also looks... slightly damp. ]

Okay, aside from the welcoming committee not actually being very welcoming, if anyone can direct me to, uh, whoever can get me home? That would be awesome.

I was a little busy and we're under a time crunch. [ and that frigid cow stole her best friend AND AN ICE BOMB JUST EXPLODED so you know. she has to prioritize that. also she has a dragon to attend to and, god, she is just really busy right now. ]

If that isn't possible, could someone direct me to wherever Nonah 005 is?

she doesn't ask after her friends because she can't think about that now. she needs to focus on getting back to the argo ii and jason so she can work on getting them to leo. and then smack leo for scaring her.

it's a decently solid plan. like swiss cheese kind of solid.

her stomach twists uncomfortably because the thought makes her miss leo, but her only response is a thoroughly dramatic groan and such a face. ]

[ her lips purse into a line as the video shifts, piper obviously trying to figure out how to access the maps at this exact second. she hasn't had a phone for over a year and this is some saved by the bell, doubles as a weapon nokia throwback. ]

[Scrolling through the posts, Annabeth doesn't always pay the most attention - not unless something catches her eye. Piper's face, Piper's voice, that's definitely cause for a double take, and she immediately responds, without even thinking about it.]

[Her own face is about ten layers of relieved and glad to see her friend, even if she looks a little tired too, dark circles under her eyes completing it. But it's probably the happiest she's been since arriving in this place.]

Piper! Oh gods, Piper, do you have any idea how good it is to see you right now? [She'll come back to the whole 'it sucks getting stuck here' bit, but for now she wants to bask in this, in having someone she knows and trusts to turn to at last.]

piper literally shrieks, cutting off most of what annabeth says because it's annabeth saying it??? her grip on the communicator veers wildly into "would break this if it wasn't made of what seems to be nokia technology" territory. she looks shattered, tears immediately welling up and turning her rainbow eyes glassy, the obvious emotion breaking through her complete and utter shock. ]

You were in Tartarus!

[ this was a fact! it's why she couldn't let herself dwell on asking about her and percy, piper knew exactly where they were (unlike leo) and knew that the argo ii was on the way to rescue them even if piper had to wrench open the doors of death and drag them out kicking and screaming by her damn self. (if you don't think that is part of her swiss cheese plan, you are so wrong.)

but here is annabeth, alive and well and seemingly no worse for wear and in the most aggravating turn of events humanly possible, NOT CLOSE ENOUGH FOR PIPER TO TACKLE IN A HUG. ]

Have you been able to figure out the porter to Nonah yet? Transportation is simpler along the train lines, which the government housing is built on. Bullet trains out of this city will take you to different parts of the states, as long as you can afford it.

[ she rubs her temple reflexively, but she doesn't ask for clarification because yes, she is well aware what her eyes do. sometimes jason just stares at her trying to figure out which color he likes best and so far he has come up blank. ]
