[ The video clicks on to show Newt, but he doesn't really seem focused on the device at all. Staring past it, eyes clouded with... something. The feed jerks around sporadically from shaking hands, and Newt looks filthy on screen, like he's been in one too many fights that he may not have won, covered in dirt and grime, blood and wounds.

After a minute of this, his eyes snap to the screen, clearing with recognition, remembering what he'd turned it on for in the first place. ]

Sorry, I- I'm... not well. I've got the Flare and it's getting worse. [ A deep breath, and he's dragging a trembling hand through his hair. ]

I think I'm contagious, and that means you're all infected unless... there's people called Munies- [ his expression sours at the term ] Immunes, shanks that don't get sick with it. Don't know if they exist here, you're better off going to a hospital, getting tested for disease or somethin'.

Just- for God's sake, don't bloody breathe on anyone until you do or we'll all be dead.

No- no! I want them to be helped. Something stopped this thing from spreading before, there has to be a way to fix it again. But I'm... I'm too far gone, now. I'll be completely out of my head in a few days, it's better if I'm out here where I can't hurt anybody.

You mean until you eventually wander to civilization? Not a great plan, and you gotta think of yourself, too. Like you said there's probably a fix, and it might be found in time.

[ A terrible plan that ends with him dead, but it'd ensure he wouldn't hurt anyone. His patience snaps again, and he feels so frustrated, because everyone keeps telling him he can be fixed but he knows he can't. Why can't anyone else see that, accept it? ]

Shuck it! A cure isn't gonna fix the damage this thing has already done to me. But Cranks that have just caught it, they've got a chance of getting it stopped maybe. If this place could stop it before, it's gotta be able to do it again. Nanites, maybe- that's probably what did it before. Think I'm too sick for them to do any good anymore.

[ Because he is a KID and these are ADULTS. And he may sound angry but this is actually very upsetting and disturbing, listening to someone probably Walt Jr.'s age talking like this. ]

Half the shit you said was gibberish to me, but I know that you're taking more time than you're giving back to folks. I get it, kid, I get you're trying to be all brave, but people are going to waste their time hunting you down now if you keep this up. Doesn't matter what you say, people will look.

So just make it a little easier on everyone and let someone who knows what they're doing give you a look.

That would mean coming back to the city and risking more people just for the sake of trying to fix myself. I should be the last bloody priority here. If you shanks are smart, you'll start looking for cures and not for the slinthead that started this whole mess.

The hell is a shank? Speak English for God's sake. Look whatever, you can play the angsting martyr card all you want, but the fact is you're still a kid, and people aren't going to leave you out there to die just because you happened to be a part of this. Obviously wasn't your fault.

You'll just keep wasting people's time unless you at least agree to let someone come out and check on you, at the very least. Don't care who, really. Someone immune, I'm guessing, with some medical expertise. You should be taken to wherever the other infected are gonna be.

It's a person, it's slang. Whatever, doesn't bloody matter. I want to be left alone because I'm already gonna die, it's a set buggin' thing. You get past the Gone, it isn't long until you're brain completely gives out and you're dead. That's the point I'm nearly at now. I'm saying it's a waste of everybody's time trying to bring a dead man in.
