I was going to apologize for throwing more inane bullshit on here, but since we're all going to be dying of plague soon I guess it's actually kind of topical. Get out while you still can, you know?

Anyway. Has anyone from an earth like this visited their home here? Was that kind of fun or just massively depressing?

And uh, I guess if the overwhelming answer is depressing I'm also taking vacation recommendations. I'm not really picky as long as it's somewhere kind of quiet and thought provoking. Someplace you can clear your head, you know?

Because you're the one complaining about my answer. Either show me the better ones you're comparing it against or accept you lost!

That doesn't make sense. You don't need to be able to bake a superior pie in order to say someone else's is substandard.

That comparison doesn't really work for you. You still need to be able to show someone what a better pie looks like!

A better answer would have formed a stronger connection between the topic of our conversation and your vacation. Saying you could visit the computer tech capital of the world is a weak attempt - we weren't really discussing cutting edge technology, only minor formatting tricks.

Also, a truly satisfying answer would need to demonstrate why this topic is relevant to the original discussion not simply by shared subject matter, but rather by some kind of intrinsic link - for example, if we were discussing this because you were considering taking such a vacation, that would be strong linkage and thus a legitimate answer. But simply saying there's a marginal overlap in subject matter is definitely a reach!

Personally, I suspect there is no really satisfying answer, which is why I challenged you to begin with!

I don't remember saying I had a problem with it! Acknowledging your tendency to talk around things doesn't necessarily mean it bothers me.

Well, it depends on the circumstances. But it's probably true that I'm not used to people asking about me.
