[He sounds tired, like he's been up all night and then some. In the background Sakamoto can be heard nervously talking.]

It's prolly no surprise t'anyone this thing got to Maurtia Falls. My roommate came home sick, dunno where he's been.

To any of the other residents of 004: If ya missed it so far...don't come home. I can't...

[Sakamoto's voice momentarily raises, "We're fine! It's just our imagination, isn't it!?" and the sound of a chair scraping the floor closer to the mic.]

Would ya shut up!? This is yer fault I'm here!

[Heiji sighs heavily.]

M'sorry. Just...stay away 'til this is figured out.

It's Heiji. [Low growl of frustration in his voice.]

We're gonna be just fine. They're goin' to find a cure and we're gonna make it through.

[Makes sure he's settled and goes to the kitchen to get him a glass of water.

He gets a glass, sets it down on the counter, and then pauses, staring at it.]

You're right. We got this.

[ a cure. it's their best hope, isn't it? their only one?

he thinks on this, as heiji leaves the room, staring up at nothing in particular while he feels the bits and pieces of him slowly shake loose. it's all they have to look forward to now at this point. leave it up to modern medical science to figure it out. all they have to do is wait.

[Heiji shook himself, frowning in confusion at the glass, before leaving it there to return to the other room, distracted.]

[ i've been hearing an engine whine for over a day now

[ is this reassurance for heiji or himself? what a mystery ]

[His face falls into a sad expression for a moment. No matter how annoying Sakamoto is, Heiji can't hate him. Taking a breath, his expression shifted to one of determination.]

Yer damn right. People here are supposed to be superheroes, right? They'll figure somethin' out. In th' meantime you an' I are gonna keep ourselves together, so don't ya give up on me, ya hear?

Giving up is the last thing on my list, you got that at least.

[ not like he'll have a choice but hey ]

Good. Now what was I doin? I walked into the kitchen an' got a glass.

[Stares at Sakamoto for a moment before snapping his fingers.]

Right! Water. Gimme a moment.

[And back to actually fill that glass. Trying to stay upbeat.]

Y'know, after all this? We ought to go out.

[ stay upbeat. laugh like nothing's wrong. ]

[This house is so topsy turvey, however will he find his way? Returns with two glasses, figuring he could probably use something to drink, and hands one over to Sakamoto.]

Sure, we can do that. See what kinda stuff they got to do around here. [On any other day he wouldn't even entertain the thought. Sakamoto would have to physically drag him out.]
