[He sounds tired, like he's been up all night and then some. In the background Sakamoto can be heard nervously talking.]

It's prolly no surprise t'anyone this thing got to Maurtia Falls. My roommate came home sick, dunno where he's been.

To any of the other residents of 004: If ya missed it so far...don't come home. I can't...

[Sakamoto's voice momentarily raises, "We're fine! It's just our imagination, isn't it!?" and the sound of a chair scraping the floor closer to the mic.]

Would ya shut up!? This is yer fault I'm here!

[Heiji sighs heavily.]

M'sorry. Just...stay away 'til this is figured out.

I think you'd love it there. Everything is so bright and colorful, and oh-! You should see the buildings! It's a perfect mixture of Western and Eastern culture. I don't think there's anywhere else in the world like it.

If ye've got any pictures, you should show me sometime. [His voice is careful and measured, accent evening out into a slight drawl.]

Know anythin' about the sports there?

I have tons of pictures! I'll definitely show them to you!

Baseball, football, and martial arts are pretty popular.

Got any kendo teams?

Of course!

Did Kendo back home. Captain of my team. They were [are] great guys. Nothin' like the feel of a sword in yer hand to clear yer head. [Makes a thoughtful noise.]

Maybe you could find a team here! Or make one.

Might need t'teach a few people.

...yeah, I could do that. Someone was supposed to help me get my power under control. Was gonna let me teach him. I'd like to start a team. Get back into it. [He sounds stronger.]

Hm.. [ There's a brief pause as she considers to prospect of learning. She definitely leans towards defense and capturing rather than outright offense when she's out being a superhero because, honestly, she doesn't like the idea of hurting anybody. If she strays away from harming bad guys, how well would she do in something like kendo? Then again, it involves bamboo and armor, so.. ]

[Kendo would probably surprise her, and if it comes up Heiji would be more than happy to tell her how martial arts of any kind of meant for self defense. He himself was more of an offensive type, but he's had too many people have a go at him with a sword to let anyone with a weapon get the chance to get under his guard.]

Ye'd have to have a lot of patience. The forms are a sort've meditation and the sport itself takes a lot of concentration. [He could see her being really good at it.]

[ As excitable and restless as she can be, patience is easy for her to obtain. As a scientist and a cook, it is a quality that she has to have. ]

I can definitely work with that! I'll need a good teacher though! [ Hint, hint. ]

[He hadn't been thinking about giving up, not strictly, but the chances of him surviving this decrease every second he goes without a cure.

Still a promise for the future is a reason as good as any to keep fighting.]

Ya couldn't ask for a better one. Very few opponents have ever beaten me.

Then it's settled. Once you're feeling better, we'll get to it! [ Still keeping that optimism. ]

[Another momentary silence as he tries to think of something he could ask for, fingers tapping lightly on the desk. Something other than a silent plea to stay; help; talk; keep him focused, alert, thinking.]

Well, ya already agreed to run around New York on an adventure with me, so teachin' you would probably square us out.

Or you could let me show you some of those explosions we were talking about earlier, and then we'll call it even after that!

[He laughs. First time in a couple days. It feels good.]

I'll see anythin' yer willin' to show me, Honey. If it explodes or changes colour or turns into dust, I'm there.

Perfect! I know exactly what I can do to show you all three at the same time! Ooh, you're gonna love it! I'm so, so excited!

[That excitement is addicting, reminds Heiji of who he is. The hell is he doing freaking out like this for? Sitting here waiting for this to eat at him isn't going to do a damn thing helpful.

He never was one for sitting down and just taking a beating. He's going to survive, and he's going to do it without losing his housemate, too.]
