So... Hi.
[ man it's tricky starting these things, isn't it? well, it wasn't the first time. but that was before she turned into a manic not-zombie for about a week, so. eh. anyway! she's not sick anymore, but she still looks a little worse for wear. she sounds tired, voice rough from screaming once she really started to lose it. she almost only went on voice instead, but she's not really the type to hide. even if the right side of her face is marked up still, dark scars of long scratches she gave herself while she was sick, trying to get the buzzing noise in her head to stop. the nanites might've amped her body's ability to heal, but traces of the Flare aren't completely gone just yet. STILL.
Rachel's been stuck in bed for too long, and if she can offer something helpful? she's going to do it. and no she's not thinking of the long-term, but she probably is going to leave the offer open for more than just this. compensation? what's that? ]
I know everybody's busy cleaning up and getting things back to normal, and I'm not, um, there yet with the being able to help thing, so... I thought I'd offer something I can do. [ taptaptaptap her fingers drum on the flat of her sketchbook, off screen ] The Porter, or whatever, gave me the power of being able to pull the things I draw off the page and make them real. Only stuff, and food, not animals or anything too complex, but. If anybody got reckless while they were sick, like I did, I guess I'm just offering to replace anything that might've gotten broken or destroyed because of all this.
Or- anything, I don't know. Clothes, food, supplies for rebuilding. Pretty much anything. I'd just like to help. [ she pulls on a grin, her hand moving up to absently scratch her face but aaaah no nope not doing that ] Just let me know, yeah? I was thinking about heading to the park later on, so I can meet people there, or- Wherever. Just let me know.

Let's meet up? I feel like talking specifics should be in person.

Which is also an option. We can snag a study room, if you want. I work there, so they won't care if we take over one of the rooms for a while.

but whatever, that's done.
about an hour later she manages to make an easy exit, saying she has to head into work. which is not.. entirely true, but she does work at the library so hey, they can find her another time. it's fine. so she packs her notebook and supplies back into her bag, slings it over her shoulder as she heads inside. she waits near the front desk by the entrance, leaning back onto it with her ankles crossed in front of her ]

He brightens a bit when he sees her. ]
Rachel, right?

[ yeah, he approaches her and her brain goes right to missing home, for a second. it's probably bad that she assumes she's always talking to someone about the same age as her or a little younger, like a camper, but she does. she was absolutely expecting to be meeting up with a kid. luckily! the assumption of kid never comes with the idea of treating someone like a kid - if anything she's fallen into the habit of knowing to never underestimate someone by their age or appearance. you never know what someone's capable of, and she's always more than optimistic about getting to know people and finding out for herself.
so she gives him a friendly nod, and her first instinct is to hUG HIM BECAUSE FRIENDSHIP IS GREAT but no okay they're in a library and they've only texted so far so she'll hold off on the enthusiastic greeting.
she can be cool. she can. ]
Sup? [ THE COOLEST ] Margie said we could take the board room for a while instead of a little study room, and that she'd make sure nobody bugs us back there. Isn't that right? [ Margie, who is 8,000 years old and the sweetest old lady librarian on the planet, nods and ] And that's why you're the best, Margie! We'll be quiet, I promise. [ ends up laughing and shaking her head like she always does when Rachel is being ridiculous. and yes, she does know what "pound it" means, which is why she raises her hand when Rachel holds her fist out over the desk to meet her half way ] C'mon.
[ she leads the way, heading towards the back of the big library, where the meeting rooms are ]
