So... Hi.

[ man it's tricky starting these things, isn't it? well, it wasn't the first time. but that was before she turned into a manic not-zombie for about a week, so. eh. anyway! she's not sick anymore, but she still looks a little worse for wear. she sounds tired, voice rough from screaming once she really started to lose it. she almost only went on voice instead, but she's not really the type to hide. even if the right side of her face is marked up still, dark scars of long scratches she gave herself while she was sick, trying to get the buzzing noise in her head to stop. the nanites might've amped her body's ability to heal, but traces of the Flare aren't completely gone just yet. STILL.

Rachel's been stuck in bed for too long, and if she can offer something helpful? she's going to do it. and no she's not thinking of the long-term, but she probably is going to leave the offer open for more than just this. compensation? what's that? ]

I know everybody's busy cleaning up and getting things back to normal, and I'm not, um, there yet with the being able to help thing, so... I thought I'd offer something I can do. [ taptaptaptap her fingers drum on the flat of her sketchbook, off screen ] The Porter, or whatever, gave me the power of being able to pull the things I draw off the page and make them real. Only stuff, and food, not animals or anything too complex, but. If anybody got reckless while they were sick, like I did, I guess I'm just offering to replace anything that might've gotten broken or destroyed because of all this.

Or- anything, I don't know. Clothes, food, supplies for rebuilding. Pretty much anything. I'd just like to help. [ she pulls on a grin, her hand moving up to absently scratch her face but aaaah no nope not doing that ] Just let me know, yeah? I was thinking about heading to the park later on, so I can meet people there, or- Wherever. Just let me know.

You're making quite a bit of work for yourself then, with a post like this.

[ she shrugs ] I did say I was only going to be drawing things to help with rebuilding the city after the Flare. I'm hoping most people will only ask for things like t-shirts and hammers.

I'm prepared to say no if someone asks me for a personal home theatre system.

Yeah, sorry. [ she grins ] You'll have to get your surround sound from the store just like everybody else.

I imagine a DVD or a game would be difficult too, unless you've memorized it? I broke my copy of Snitch, could you make me a new one?

I'm pretty sure I can make DVDs.

And everything on them? That seems much more complicated though, how interesting. What about entire books, word for word?

Can't think about it that way. With living animals, I definitely get it. They have a brain, some kind of personality, it's all really complex, and not understanding it could be- yikes. But a book is just words, it's a story. A DVD is just a recording of some kind of production. [ a beat ] I don't think I could try and draw like the "lost recordings" of some artist I've never heard of, since it might not exist, but a DVD of a popular movie? Sure.

Fascinating. I love to see it in action. Care to do a small demonstration?

[ she's futzing with her stuff until she's got her communicator balanced on one knee, and the angle isn't great to see what she's drawing as she's drawing it, but that's okay ]

Should I try that DVD, maybe? Is Snitch the one with Will Smith, or the Rock? Oh, no wait, Will Smith's movie was Hitch. [ she laughs ] You're talking about the action movie, right? Which is vague, but that's okay.

[The angle's good enough and he smiles to himself, taking a moment to write a message on his own communicator before putting his attention to her camera again.]

That's Hitch yes. [He- knows that one, of course he's fucking seen Hitch by now. That movie is amazing. Snitch is just an alternate MoM version of Snatch.]

Snitch is a film based on stealing and fighting and I believe stars... mmnn Brad Pitt?

Hmm. Okay, okay.

[ she gets to sketching out a basic DVD case, draws a guy that has a vague likeness to Brad Pitt, but she's more focused on the pose and the design of the cover. oh right, but he probably wasn't the only one in it, so she's just drawing other vague figures on the cover with him. totally action flick worthy. it takes a few minutes before she's happy with it, but then she's holding the notebook up a little better towards the camera and just dipping her fingers into the page until she's pulling out a DVD case. ]

Oh, cool. [ the cover ( somehow, because magic ) is complete with all the actors and their names, the back of it covered in credits and reviews. when she pops the case open, there's the DVD inside ] Ta-da!

[Nooooo problemooo.]

[There's a glint to his eyes as he watches, entranced by the display and even more excited knowing her audience is more than just him. And ability like that is certainly useful, and her skill at drawing makes it even more impressive. A knot clenches tight when the slim box is finally pulled into their dimension and unseen, he grips at the edge of the small table infront of him.]

You wouldn't happen to have something to play it one, would you?

There's probably one in my apartment? But I'm sure all of the apartments have DVD players.

[HEEEEeeehhh.]

I suppose I won't know how well you've copied it then. A shame.
