[Yeah. The news of Father's Day has Ed in a bitter enough mood as it is. Let alone the revelation of Al having gone home. A second time. Ed has never taken too well to being separated from his brother. To have it happen again, even if logically he knows Al just went home once more and would be regaining his body. That doesn't make it any better. Any easier. Not in the heat of that discovery. Which is what everyone hears in some vaguely coherent attempt of loud yelling, presumably somehow directed at the Porter or general staff in charge of it. Nobody said Ed was the most logical or calm where Al was concerned.]

You--Like hell I'm letting them get away with this again! Make up your damned mind! Do you want Al here or not?! Stop jerking me around! Stop jerking him around like this!

[Both times, neither time did his brother finally regain his body, still stuck in that armor. Even though Ed knows he succeeds. Yet even the armor was more than he had for months. More than he has now. Again. He wants to say so much more. But he can't. As much as he wants to. Wants to yell and vent for eternity that after everything he still doesn't get that proper closure. Doesn't get to be with his brother. Wants to go and smash the Porter and punch anyone that has anything to do with it. That won't bring Al back. Won't get him back to Al. And that's what he hates more than anything. Finally being so relieved and glad at seeing his brother again only for that to be taken away so soon.]

[Winry isn't sure how to help Ed out this time. She's hurting too - Al was here, then taken away. Now they have to put the pieces back together, and after such a short time.]

[Now what? What does she say? What does she do?]

[Whether this was even really intentional, if Ed was just trying to check in with Al at the time upon confirming what he feared. Regardless, now everyone knows. Now Winry knows. Aware just how furious and upset Ed had been the last time. Let alone a second. It's understandable he's pissed off. Even more frustrated than if Al hadn't shown up again like he had.

And yet he himself isn't too sure what to say either. Nothing either of them say would change anything. Would bring him back.]

Yeah?

[Well, he has to say something. Because he is at least still coherent enough in spite of his rage to register she expects some sort of response.]

I'm sorry he's gone, too. And angry!

But him being gone from here isn't going to change what happens back home.

I know. I'll....see you soon then.

[Because he knows more or less how this mess works. Al won't even remember this back home and will - in theory - go home and get through the events of the Promised Day, regaining his body. It's what he anticipated happening last time. Only the Porter still took him from earlier on while still bound to the armor.

Regardless, he's in his room when Winry returns. Sitting curled up on his bed, hugging his knees, the plate of the meal he had been eating sitting barely touched on the bedside table.]

[Winry comes in, Zoey trotting along beside her, all curious. Winry's carrying a heavy bag which she sets down on the desk. She gives Ed a long look before walking over to join him on the bed. She wraps her arms around her legs, too.]

It isn't fair.

[There isn't much one can say in a situation like this. Roy has been here long enough to understand that people he cares about might be taken away at a moment's notice. It happened to the Lieutenant, after all. And though he understands Ed's frustrations, he also knows that this won't help. So he simply says:]

Calm down, Fullmetal.

[Mustang. On the best of days, Ed generally has little to no patience for him most of the time. Being told to calm down in this sort of situation, any situation involving Al or Winry is generally pointless when it comes to Ed. And his superior knows this. Most anyone that knows Ed even tangently would be aware of it.]

Telling me to calm down about this. That damned thing....this is the second time!

So I've noticed.

[His tone may be a little stern, but he's far from sympathetic. He knows how strong the bond between the two brothers is, and what it means for this to happen so soon after his arrival. It's a cruel trick.]

However, what exactly do you think you will accomplish by yelling at it?

Hell if I know. Figured it might help me feel a bit better.

[It hasn't. But still. Sometimes it's all he can do, to try. Whether something works or not is another story. But at least he's not already recklessly on his way to try smash the Porter or something in retaliation for this.]

Yeah. Already. Damned thing can't make up its mind, apparently.

[Ed's pissed. Fuming. Hating himself for having gotten his hopes up at seeing his brother again, armor or otherwise. Even knowing this could happen again. Just not so soon.]

Man, that Porter sucks. I don't understand the purpose of bringing someone here just to yank them right back home.

A pain in the ass. Jerking me--jerking him around like that. Damned thing needs to make up it's mind already who it wants here. I'm.....sick of this.

[The second time now. Let alone the constant knowledge the same could happen to Winry, for example.]

Hey, Ed. You alright? What -- what happened?

[flamels]

Al got sent back home. Again. I'm just sick of the Porter jerking us around like this!

[Tense, obviously upset. Obviously pissed off. It's about the best explanation he can manage without launching into cursing. Without trying to restrain himself because he knows it's nobody's fault, not Kaidan's fault. But it still hurts.]

[ A soft hiss. ]

I'm sorry, that's gotta be hard. At least he's...back home, right?

Yeah. I know. It's just--he just got back here, dammit.

[Add that this is not the first time. Coupled with how close the brothers are. It's no surprise Ed's not taking it well. Surprising that he's taking this as well as he is under the circumstances and not going all out to break in to the Porter himself. He's grown up enough to understand that wouldn't change or achieve anything.

Maybe I'm not yelling at the thing loud enough. I'd say I should hit it harder but that wouldn't get me anywhere either except jail. Been there and done that, rather not have a repeat.

[But really. He knows. Just needs to vent out his frustration outside of punching at his bedroom walls. Again. Had the initial freak out and anger. There is some growing maturity there under his reckless and loud bluster.]
