Case File 006; Text; Mirronet
The secretary of defense, Lacey Chases, has been a person of interest ever since her announcement she made a month ago regarding legislation. However, while I've seen much speculation about her and the government's intentions towards imPorts, I've seen every little information about the woman herself. With that in mind, I've decided to take matters into my own hands and do a little digging. Here's what I've found so far.
>She was born June 1st, 1970, in Montana, the second out of three daughters. Her parents were patriotic and pro-military, and instilled in her a strong sense of nationalism and an interest in protecting her nation.
>In order to further her goals, she attended West Point Academy from 1989-1991, graduating at the top of her class. In 1992, she took part in Operation Provide Comfort, a military initiative to defend Kurdish refugees and provide them humanitarian aide in the wake of the Gulf War. After her tour and a brief stay at home, she was then stationed at Haiti from 1984-1985. She worked in military intelligence during her tours in the Middle East and Haiti.
>She was eventually promoted to the rank of colonel, and by 2002, she was working under the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics. A few years afterward, she was working as the Deputy Secretary of Defense. In January of 2013, she was nominated as Secretary of Defense, and approved by the United States Senate in a vote of 90-8.
>L. Chases also happens to be a very private woman. She doesn't share details about her personal life easily, and there's no sign of a spouse or children. "Married to the job" is how some people would describe her.
>Most importantly, she has been a supporter of imPorts for some time now. While she hasn't stated her opinions explicitly, she has shown strong support for pro-imPort legislation that has been passed over the past year, and has a strong interest in building a better working relationship between imPorts and the American people. In other words, this woman is not our enemy, and can be a powerful ally. It would be in our best interests to learn as much about her as we can, before we write her off completely.

And I think there are many points to be made about the Secretary of Defense's treatment toward imPorts. But that is one such example, yes.

The eldest is named Novalee, or Nova for short. The youngest is Stella. Apparently their parents loved astronomy just as much as they loved America.
[As for legislation... that's a phrase he types, and erases, and retypes nearly half a dozen times. There are several ways he could take this conversation. His opinions on registration versus being unregistered. On vigilante law. On the legislation he agrees with, and the legislation that gives him pause. On just how involved he thinks Chases has been with this legislation. He decides to hold off for now, though. No matter what direction he takes it in, he knows the conversation will turn hostile, and he's going to need a clear plan of attack if he wants to save face. But he can't simply ignore it, either...hrmph]
As for legislation, I'd like to finish the discussion on Chases' family, first. Do you have any thoughts concerning her sisters?
text.
[Where are the six Hanks and twelve Peters that seem to be inevitably in every other part of her world?]
But despite Chases' name, neither of her sisters fit the scheme. I mean, they fit a shame, but not the scheme that seems to be in every aspect of this world as long as you tilt your head to the right angle. (Sometimes, they need a little head tilting.)

"A nova (plural novae or novas) is a cataclysmic nuclear explosion on a white dwarf, which causes a sudden brightening of the star."
[And there's a link, as well as another. Please, please, please let this be a coincidence...]

Then again, sometimes things are a little too literary.
