[Up on the screen is a young man with too many freckles on his face to count. He's from a time long ago, but he's grown accustomed to wearing modern clothes, with a simple red t-shirt on. Nothing out of the ordinary, except for the large black dragon that rolls about on the grass behind him.]

Uh, hi there! I'm Hiccup. Some of you might know me if — well, if you're all even still here. From what I've figured out, I came here earlier this year, but uh, some sort of glitch happened and I got kind of stuck or ... something like that. Basically, I kind of left for a few months and was just kind of curious what's actually happened since I left. I mean, last I saw, there was a giant dragon wrecking things so, uh, things were kind of crazy. But I guess that was a while back now.

[He sighs deeply, recalling that, shaking his head.] If you knew me before, I'm sort of the "dragon guy" or whatever, so if someone can tell me what happened, that'd be great. I'm ... really hoping to clear up any anti-dragon views around here. Because they're not all bad! Really. It's — it's complicated, but I promise you that. But, uh, I guess that's that. Thanks.

[With an attempted smile, more sheepish than anything, the feed goes off.]

[Yeah, he knows. His experiences with certain dragons haven't all been a hundred percent on the peaceful end. After all, he did lose a foot from taking on an enormous one that tried to kill his entire tribe.

But it also isn't his first time dealing with people who don't like dragons quite as much as he does.]

Y-yeah, I saw that it was kind of ... messy. But — look, not all dragons are like that. Just like there's bad and good people, it's the same for them. Sometimes it's complicated.

I'm not sure if it's welcome back or not. And what's new depends a little on whether you're Registered or not. Giant dragon was a couple of months ago, I think.

There isn't some worldwide agreement that I'm responsible for any act performed by any dragon in existence.

Apparently. Something with the Porters acting up, but ... I mean, that sort of technology is far beyond the stuff I'm used to, so it's still a little hard to follow. The consequences of running behind by about a thousand years, give or take.

[Sure, yeah. The Viking life was swell until they throw you in a nice modern society.]

Just that most people hear dragon and immediately think vicious, man-eating, and destructive. My tribe used to always say "kill on sight", which was, well, a huge misunderstanding.
