So it occurs to me that there are different forces at work here, among even the imPort population. I confess to have no real understanding of these political intricacies, but feel as though it's important to remain aware of the influences permeating our own subculture of sorts. So far RISE and the Justice League have been spoken of in passing, but what are these organizations and are there any others? An overview would be appreciated.
I feel I should also express my thanks to those that met with myself and my colleague last month before the swear-in, as well as to those that assisted us during the event itself. We are most grateful. We've decided to take employment at StarkTech for the time being, where we'll be heading up a new biotechnological division.
[A little later, an additional notation pops up]
Never will I understand the desire to erect a wall in the face of opposition.

At least he could understand why Newton found these lectures so exhausting. Where he'd always worn his principles like some badge or medal he'd never earned, his friend found the idea restricting. And it was, he supposed.
But he'd secretly always wanted to be a hero.
The mention of the wall was unnecessary and set his teeth on edge]
I'm aware, Newton. I was hardly serious. But for all your self-sacrificial tendencies, you're the one hesitating this time. You wouldn't have forced me to drift with you even when it meant saving the world, and I intend to give you that same choice without the pressure of believing I'd do it on my own regardless.
Action
But Hermann, you ARE a hero. ]
Sorry. Shit, I thought you were serious I--shit, Hermann. We won't do this anytime soon, and I never felt you were pressuring me. But this might be the only worthwhile contribution to the Porter quest that I can make.
[ He put on a cocky grin, unwilling to keep circling the emotional ...whatever they were hovering over and not wanting to feel defeated either.]
And I'd like to see you try doing it without me. You don't know the first thing about constructing a pons. Dude, you need me. You're the good guy superhero and I'm your antithesis, the cool antihero with the gadgets and the car and the secret lair. Well, eventually I'll have those. Anyway.
Action
Well I suppose we can skip the part where I sway you to the side of good for the benefit of the world by appealing to your humanity. You did a remarkable job of that yourself. A secret lair though, Newton?
Action
Though however sarcastic or jokingly it was said, Newt enjoyed hearing from Hermann "you did a remarkable job."]
Yeah! Super secret with lots of cool tech and specimens and maybe like Hannibal Chau had, with a fake storefront. Don't worry. You'll be allowed in and I'll keep it to my side of the apartment.
Action
[But he's amused all the same, despite the gruesome rows of kaiju specimens he'd never really seen that come to mind.
Our apartment, their lab. Could they ever be entirely separate again?]
In any case, I'm relatively certain I wouldn't feel any particular compulsion to venture into your 'lair'.
