[Narcissa is frustrated with this phone thing. She's never seen anything like it- it must be a Muggle thing. But it seems there is nothing for it- it seems this is something she has to do to get any real answers. Her wand is tucked just out of sight- still within reach. She's put a charm around the house, which seems empty at the moment, which would detect and alert her to any intruders. To any walking into De Chima #2, best plug your ears.

She's sitting on the couch, wearing looks like expensive clothes and the expression on her face is not friendly.]

I've been told this-device- is a means to communicate- even if it seems rather primitive.

[Really. Where are the owls? This is all so strange.]

Then I seek answers from any who may hear this. I am Narcissa Malfoy - [That should be enough introduction in her view. Who doesn't recognize the Malfoy name?] -and I want to know what this device is and what I need to know of this world.

We use the term 'mage' where I'm from, actually.

But my name is Sabriel. I've been here for some time- since February, at any rate.

And where are you from? I have not heard of such a name, tell me your family name.

I am from the Old Kingdom- and I am Abhorsen's daughter. If that name means nothing to you, then we probably aren't from the same world.

If you are from a family of magic, then that is acceptable, Sabriel.

[That is the important part and Narcissa even looks slightly less haughty now.]

Acceptable for what? [Well, other worlds have different attitudes towards magic. Still, it seems odd that anyone not from her world would care whether she's from a family of mages or not.]

There are several mages here, and I understand it's the sort of thing that runs in families in many worlds. Still, in others, it's simply an area of study- the same way one might choose to study music, or engineering.

Magic is something you were born with. Those who where not born with it are taking what is not theirs to begin with. Magic is not simply for everyone.

[Sabriel's expression grows slightly more haughty- mostly as a way to mask her own disbelief and irritation. Another mage shows up, and it's someone with a kind of snobbery that's nonsensical to Old Kingdom sensibilities.]

Really? Even if it's given to them by those who are born with it?

There is only one word for someone such as that- bloodtraitor. Someone who would betray their station in life to raise up those who are beneath them.

[Narcissa had turned her back on her own sister for such a crime. It's taken very seriously.]

Then we have very different notions of what it means to betray ones family. [Sabriel's expression has gone cold, and her voice is harsh.]

Tell me, do you think magical power is nothing more than some bauble, or mark of status? Because that's what you seem to be saying.

Of course it is status. To throw that away to teach those who are beneath us, it is betraying your own gift.

Magic isn't status, it's understanding- and knowledge should be shared, not locked away.

Although understanding is something you obviously lack.

I will not be spoken to in such a manner by a bloodtraitor.

And I see no reason to coddle a halfwit.
