I don't know who here knew Heiji Hattori, but he's gone. Ported out. Whatever it's called. He left some stuff behind, so there's that.

And I think I'm gonna have to look into finding a new place to live. The guy left me all his pets and I don't think there's enough room for all of them, me and my doves and my roommates. Does anyone know how to teach a cat to ignore the birds?

[Of course, this is text. Because Kaito is too damn tired to deal with Poker Face at the moment and he knows he'd have to use it if this was voice or video.

Well, I have an aviary. I mean, it's small, since I really couldn't have an entire flock of doves here like I do at home, but there's probably about ten or so.

I might just let Hattori's giant chick guard it, since she seems to like the doves and the cat tends to leave her alone. Probably doesn't want to pick on something like five times her size.

The birds I can handle, I've been around them all my life, actually. My dad was a magician and he kept a few that he would use in his shows.

I'm more worried about the cat. Doves are not supposed to be kitty food.

[And now KID uses in his heists, but that's neither here nor there.]

If you are, I'm really sorry, this was sort of sprung on me. I've been trying to keep the cat in my room until I can find a place but she's tricky like that.

I can't give up the cat either, 'cause if Hattori comes back and finds out she's gone, I'll never hear the end of it.

Pretty much. The guy left instructions in case he ever got ported out.

I inherited the pets.

That actually really sucks. And I'm not just saying that because I have an allergy. To be stuck with someone's pets is bull. At least it's not a kid, right?

I don't mind. Hattori's a good guy, if not a little rough around the edges. And I know he'll be back, this place is too much of a mystery for him not to be.

People should leave a will. For when they get Ported out, I mean. But people involved should have a say in their inheritence, or lack thereof. To get stuck with a cat is a pain.

Aside from the allergies, you're not much of a cat person, are you?

I don't really have a problem with cats. Mostly because I don't have any experience with them, good or bad.

Because of the allergies.

I could perhaps try and have talk with your cat. I cannot guarantee success, but I could try. It depends really on the cat.

So wait. If that something you got here or something you had back home?

[Because Kaito was pretty normal back home. Unless you counted that bit about being an internationally wanted phantom thief, but no one knew about that.]

It is something I have been able to do for many years. My people are naturally intune with nature, thus such skills come more easily than other races.

[ Being able to turn into a giant cat beast probably doesn't hurt either.]

Wow... man, I would love to be able to do something like that. I could talk to my birds!

I'm just a normal high schooler back home.

I had never thought of it as a very extraordinary ability, but it does have its uses. I cannot say I am familiar with any sort of "high" schooling. Is it a form of apprenticeship?

Sort of? Most kids go to school - they teach us stuff like reading, writing, history, things like that. It supposed to prepare us to be adults.
