Our relationship is a bit complicated. I've left a few things over his place; would it be alright if I went by to pick them up? or for you to send them over. I'd also like to keep his books if that's possible.

Complicated or no, I didn't have the same opportunity to get to know him despite our living arrangements. It would be best if you came by in person to collect anything of his that you would like to hold onto.

[ and as agreed, during the afternoon, Kaneki will be dropping buy to pick whatever Mutsuki left. He is actually... sort of looking for something else, specifically if Mutsuki left his Quinque behind; Ken doesn't think so, but you can never be too careful right?

[The aroma of freshly ground and freshly brewed coffee will permeate the air when the door is opened by a well-dressed middle-aged man of pale hair, eyes, and complexion.]

[Smiling benignly, Yuri steps aside so that Ken may enter.]

If you'd like, you can go on ahead to your friend's room. I can bring your coffee to you. How do you take it?

[ the smell is easy to recognize, since it's pretty much the only thing that doesn't make kaneki feel a bit nauseous if he focus on it. He steps inside once the man allows him to, and politely bows his head after ]

I will take it black. No cream or sugar. [and since he was told to do so, kaneki will head to Mutsuki's room. if given the chance to be alone, the first thing kaneki does is to look under the bed and after the closet, searching for a briefcase. At least a quinque isn't hard to keep hidden, and he doubts Mutsuki was so paranoid that he found a super secret place to hide it ]

[Well, black coffee doesn't take long to prepare at all, and neither does Yuri's tea. Ken will have a minute or two, three at the most, before Yuri joins him in Mutsuki's room, one hand holding his own drink, the other offering Ken the one prepared for him.]

I'm sorry if I kept you waiting. Here you go.

[From Yuri's mug there is the faint smell of honey, but otherwise, the drink seems somewhat mild...if hot, though that doesn't appear to bother the judge as he sips it.]

Was there something in particular you were hoping to find?

[ he takes the cup, adding a "thank you" once he does. of course he will take a sip, just enough to taste the coffee and once it feels good in his mouth, of course kaneki has to compliment the man ] it's very good.

Ah- it might have disappeared along with him. Unless you have seen a suitcase of sorts..?

I don't recall having seen a suitcase or any such thing around the house, and I don't see one now. Perhaps it returned with him to where he came from.

I prefer the coffee that way. [ American coffee has so much water in it, kaneki honestly isn't very fond of that. So the stronger, the better. ]

Hm- perhaps he did. [ well, if Yuri finds it it could be problematic in some way, but in any case, kaneki won't stress too much about it. He offers the man a smile after ] it's alright. I'll just pick up the books, then. [ good thing Kaneki has super strength, it'll allow him to carry most of the books.

[Yuri sips his tea and observes as Kaneki demonstrates his strength, a feat that might raise eyebrows if the judge weren't already accustomed to dealing with supers everyday, in particular those with exceptional physical prowess...]

I'm employed presently as a haberdasher out of Nonah. It's quite different from my work at home, but utilizes the awareness of a talent I possess that received only limited use in the past.

[Meaning simply that while his job requires him to sell the accessories to sewing, he's still able to put to use his ability to sew. Perhaps that is the result of his good business sense? And being someone who possesses various finely tuned skills...]

And what do you do, Mr. Kaneki?

[ he doesn't hide his super strength, certainly. It will also help him now, so there is no use hiding it. But like Yuri, Kaneki knows this isn't an impossible or weird feat here. ]

It's a good thing that job fits you. usually people have a hard time finding something they enjoy, though i've always been lucky in that front. [ he really feels that he has because all of his jobs have been pretty nice ]

Just "Kaneki" is fine. And I'm a waitress at the imPort Café, Lucky Cat Café. [ ken pats the books he just grabbed, smiling ] I used to sell books, and then I was a librarian for a while.

You're right, so few of us imPorts are handed occupations that suit us as well as the government thinks, and fewer still are handed positions they enjoy. But you...you were a librarian? That is a fine job.

The super strength you seem to possess must have been useful there every now and again, but how do you find ways to implement it at a cafe?

He still reads them, but kaneki has found such difficulty to enjoy them like before. or anything, let's be honest here, his life sucks balls ] so it was a pleasure having worked around them. [Perhaps not, but who knows when a window of opportunity will present itself? It's not as though any of the imPort cities are known for being a refuge from the constant threats that arise, so there is a chance, at least in Yuri's mind, that if he observes, he may observe something interesting.]

[The judge, such a nice man, completely harmless, smiles politely in return as he sets down his coffee cup and moves to finally assist Kaneki with removing the books from the shelf. He may not have super strength, but he is much stronger than he looks and transporting small stacks proves easy enough.]

Do you work in the evenings? I'm afraid most days I'm rather busy with my own job and it would be more difficult to stop by then.

[ kaneki nods and adds a small "thank you" as Yuri helps him. ]

I work mornings until 2pm. Sometimes I stay a bit longer to help. [ but he also has college classes during the afternoon. he isn't doing a full schedule because kaneki wouldn't be able to, mentally, but at least he still goes daily ]

[Setting down his armful of books, Yuri taps his chin. Two was a few hours before he was used to closing up shop, but he could sacrifice a little bit of time in favor of some research, couldn't he? Likely there would be no better way to find out more about Kaneki than by spending time with him...]

I never had one as a pet, though i do agree some are pretty. And I guess I just never saw the interest. But i work at a café, I'm usually the one who serves and I'm used to that. The jobs they give us usually aren't related to our powers. They all feel pretty ironic, in many cases, but that's it. Unless your superpowers have something to do with fishes? Anyway, the café belongs to an imPort. I asked her to hire me, basically.

I have a cat. It could be problematic for them. Probably they have really ironic people in their PR department. And I can't complain about either; my former native bosses were very nice to me. But I think that's also because having an imPort helped their business.
