First Burn - [Video] - Forward dated to tomorrow morning 1/6

[When the video feed clicks on, it reveals a blonde teenager with a lot of hair, holding it up selfie-style, perched in a chair at a coffee shop somewhere, her legs propped up on another chair across from her and a large coffee resting on the edge of the table. She has a large piece of paper crumpled up in her lap, but she's looking at the camera. She gives a big smile and a friendly wave.]

Well they said we can use this to talk to everybody else who got so...Hey! I'm Yang! I guess it's nice to meet all of you, I mean, we're all in this crazy thing together, right?

[She stops to take a sip of her drink.] Though I guess it's not that crazy. Except for the whole 'other world' part, that's pretty wild. But the powers thing, they acted like that was weird.

Maybe it's weird for everybody else. Was it weird for all of you? Do most people seriously not have a semblance here? Or an aura? Everybody has an aura.

I guess that part is kinda weird.

Anyway! Iiiii've got a couple questions. About something much stranger than all that. Well. One question. No, two. Okay, first off, if anybody's seen a girl in a bright red cape, goes by Ruby Rose, let me know? She's my little sister.

[She sets her coffee down and picks up the crumpled up paper, which upon closer inspect is a map! Of the area around Maurtia Falls, probably the kind you would buy in a gas station.]

Second! The big weird question. Once I get a bike somehow, and I just hop on it and drive, you know, past whatever barriers are around these cities. Go like fifteen, twenty miles out. Is it really, actually, completely safe out there?

[She says this like it should be stranger.]

No grimm? No wrecked cities or old ruins?

'Cause that sounds kind of amazing. Big safe world. [A beat and she grins.] But also really boring.

[ Well, this is some deja vu, isn't it? He hadn't gotten to know Yang very well when she was here last, but it seems like she doesn't remember...

He decides not to say anything about it. ]

I have to admit, it was a bit of a shock technology-wise. The networks here aren't at all what I'm used to. But I don't think I've ever had to deal with semblances or auras.

But like, what protects you if somebody attacks you?

You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge. There have been other people from your world here, so I did learn about the use of Dust, but...other than that, I have no idea. [ He completely fails to mention that the 'other person' he speaks of is Yang herself. ]

Most people don't attack me since I'm over six feet in this body. But if all else fails, I have a sword. That usually does it.

Who's been here from Remnant? Where can I find them?

I believe they went home some time ago, actually, so they're no longer here. But I think that having one person from a world here increases the possibility of more appearing, so you may have company sooner or later.

Many people didn't have powers back home, no.

And there aren't wrecked cities. [ yet. ] And "safe" is questionable sometimes. Also relative, if you compare two different worlds.

Well, back on Remnant if you took a trip on foot between two towns you were basically asking to get attacked by Grimm.

Grimm are supposed to be the only creatures that don't have it, 'cause they don't have souls.

[He recognizes this girl, though only because they sparred once or twice. Beyond that, he has no idea about her at all. Her last question catches his attention, though -- 'grimm'. The way she implies they live out in places lost to... some sort of disaster.]

Depends on your definition of grim, but I'd say the world's generally a safe one.

Then again, I've also seen my fair share of some pretty bad worlds, so my perspective may be a bit off.

And yeah. Seen a few whole star systems. Space travel's convenient for that kind of thing.

It's safe enough that a friend and I are considering a road trip at some point to see the rest of the country.

Crime wise, I don't think it's much worse then most countries? I never really thought about it.

[Then again, he came from a place that has lots of murders and a few teenage detectives who solve them all.]

Well, if there aren't monsters that will try to murder you constantly, that would be safe.

Crime is less of a worry, really. I think I can handle some thugs.

Just be careful, if it's an imPort thug, they probably have super powers too.
