[ The message is brief and to the point: ]
A member of my team recovered an encrypted data drive during the military operation in Antartica. This was on it:
ONCE FIRST WAVE ACQUISITION HAS BEEN ACHIEVED, BEGIN PROGRAMMING IN PREPARATION FOR PHASE 2
20/01 MOBILIZATION HAS BEGUN
25/01 WEAPONS SHALL BE COMPLETELY WITHIN SOVIET HANDS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
LAUNCH DATE OCCUPATION 10/02
It's not much, but it's what we've got. Most of the data's either corrupted or still being decrypted. I don't know if it actually means anything, but someone thought it was important enough to hide.
If anyone's got any theories on what it means or has information that matches up to this, I'm all ears.

launch date occupation? What's that mean??text;
Given where we found it, it's probably some kind of military operation. But we don't know what it's targeting, or where.

But it's not easy to change military maneuvers on short notice and be discreet about it.

Does that mean we should expect visitors, come the tenth of the month? I'm curious about whether they still mean us when they say 'weapons', too.

if this information was already in the device then its been planned for a while yes?

When has encrypted data storage in enemy territory ever had anything good?

But just because we got our people back doesn't mean the rest of Russia stopped existing. I'd say even if this information is out of date, we can at least find out what they were trying to do.

Does any intel tell us how badly we may have screwed with their plans so far? That could decide whether or not they've scrapped what they initially wanted to do, or if they're going ahead with whatever this is.

We stomped them.
Crashed their party.
Did the big, glorious hero routine all across their hopes and dreams.
Isn't that the end of it?

Have we ever gotten off that easy?

I've been thinking about it.
You think they're going to launch nukes? I wouldn't put it past them to launch nukes.

What kept them from launching nukes, in Earth's history?
