2.) Is anyone interested in doing summer tutoring in higher level mathematics, chemistry, biology, or modern and ancient history? Geography is also useful. I won't be able to pay well at first, but we can work out different forms of compensation.

It was what my father called me.
My creator, if you prefer that terminology.
It is not typical for daughters to be named by their fathers?

It's common. Fathers or mothers, or both. I'm also named by my father.

Your father must have had some high expectations for you.

In a way, I suppose he did.
But that is somewhat irrelevant now.

Did your father have high expectations for you, Annie Leonheart?

[ The highest, of the worst caliber. He couldn't apologize or change what he'd done in the end, only ask for her to return to him alive. ]

My father was an idealist. Idealists aren't known for being realistic in their expectations.

My father was also an idealist, to a point.
Perhaps I disappointed him.
But we cannot exist to serve our fathers.

What do you exist to serve? It's not that I don't agree. Existing, not existing, such things are much more self-serving than anything like that.

I am seeking my own purpose.
My free will is relatively nascent.
So I have had little opportunity to explore my own desires and capabilities.

What is it that you serve?

At the moment? Apparently the United States Military.

[ For the first time, herself. It's a dismaying idea, even while it's freeing, because it's a temporary sort of illusion. Only meant to last as long as her time in this place does. ]

Homeland Security functions as an anti-terrorist force.
My personal functions are generally data-related.
