mathemagier: intensely doesn't care (Zero fucks)

If someone were to discover that they possessed an ability that had the potential to endanger the lives of those around them, what sort of options would they be looking at?

Other than resorting to criminal detainment of course, and where learning control is not an option, as it simply doesn't function in a controllable manner.

So essentially what I'm asking is, is it possible to voluntarily arrange for import abilities to be suppressed? Are there any non-permanent options? What sort of side-effects could one expect from undergoing such a process?

You'll have to forgive the lack of details I'm afraid, as they aren't mine to share.

[He's asking for a friend okay. Yeah when's the last time anyone bought that. Still though, it's true.]

Feel free to list any contacts you may have regarding this issue.

Thank you.

Right, well, first, I'd like something from you. And that something is a preliminary, 'thank you, Kitty Jones, for exposing yourself to potential danger by talking about your power in order to offer help.'

That's really the best you can do? When you're proposing to keep me on call like I've not got a life of my own?

God, you know, this is a bloody problem for so many imPorts. 'Groveling' my arse. All I was asking for was politeness - which is reasonable, since I'm putting myself out there to help you, and also smart, because I'd like to know that I'm not going to be kicked about and taken advantage of by some arsehole with no respect for me, my time, or my boundaries. But suddenly I'm some imperious monster for requesting that you GROVEL (meaning be reasonably polite).

There's so much potential amongst imPorts to help one another. And it's mad, we're all really EAGER to help one another. But most of us are also so proud, and so abrasive, and so cruel. I mean, tell me honestly, what do you get from treating me like I'm an imposition? What does that gain you?

By 'inflated opinion' you mean that I think that my time and energy are important?

I called what you said rubbish when you were saying things that were rubbishy. And then when your apology sounded snippy and fake I wanted a bit more than it. Look really what does kindness lose you? Politeness and consideration? What do you lose by giving those freely and without restraint?

Indebted to me? Dr Gottlieb, all I want is an indication that you know I'm worth something so that you'll not stomp all over ME. I don't really believe much in debts. I just believe in helping.

What he MEANS to say is thank you. Even if it's impractical, he appreciates it. We appreciate it. I swear he's not always a completly testy asshat. Chalk it up to him being totally awkward about talking to the girl banging the guy who's banging his facetwin.

I can't take him anywhere, right?

[ wh... ]

Well THAT'S some cheek from you, isn't it. And also that logic is a bit bloody circuitous. If we all got awkward around people with three degrees of sexual separation from us then society would just always be a blushing stuttering mess.

Anyway, who is this?
driftsintobuffetline: (well yeah you could do that)

Is "he's great in the sack" better? Because that's all I've got for you, girlfriend. I'm cheeky and shallow and just want to stay in Dr. Gottlieb's good graces and his pants.

Eurgh, love yourself! You oughtn't be taking abuse for someone simply because you think they're good in bed. Good-in-bed is EASY to find.

I'm not his whipping boy.

What's it matter so much why I intervened anyway?

Maybe cause I'd like to know something about you, given that you just spouted a great lot of facts about me that not all that many people know.
