[ She finally looks at the camera directly, as Ashiah can be seen bumbling across the wall behind her. ] I think it's time to admit I need a new weapon. The Porter recently took the one I've relied upon for years, and this [ She brings her hand up, holding a large knife. ] has proven a feeble replacement. I'd prefer something with more weight and reach, something that can actually deal damage. Motorized, if possible.

So, I'm open to suggestions. If you craft any yourself, sell me on your product. I'm willing to learn something new, but no firearms. They don't agree with my style.

It wasn't necessary and it wasn't her place! She thinks because she's a hunter and they're the dead, she has some right to exert power over them!

And now, one of them is dead, because her little binding left him completely defenseless against the murderer you now have in custody. Her actions protected no lives whatsoever, they did quite the opposite.

And, as I've said, I'll investigate this claim and discipline as necessary. Was there anything else I should know before I take it to her?

Well, I'm sure you could collect any number of complaints from other undead imPorts. I know I've spoken to others who have also encountered similar problems with her.

Sabriel has acquitted herself as a competent subordinate. I find it difficult to believe she makes a habit of harassing undead imPorts out of no reason other than bigotry. That's a weighty charge you're levying.

You must never have seen her interact with the undead. She may have internal justifications for it, but I assure you that bigotry is the primary motivation for them. She doesn't see their lives as having any value, and I don't doubt she breathed a sigh of relief at hearing two of them are dead!

And, again, it isn't only undead imPorts she has harassed, and I think that's a very important distinction to keep in mind. Especially given the jurisdiction of your office.

Given that undeath is not a state exactly common to natives, undead natives created by imPort abilities would fall under our jurisdiction as they could represent unlawful actions taken by imPorts in creating them.

But that's getting into details. I'll investigate.

Is that something you just decided now, or a decision your superiors would support? If they aren't imPorts enough for the government to give a damn towards their recovery, they certainly aren't imPorts enough to be policed by us!

They're victims of imPort violence, twice over now. Letting Sabriel victimize them as well, that's three.

That the local government is unable or unwilling to deal with something does not mean that I should not. RISE exists because there were things native law enforcement was unable to handle.

If one of us had the power to grant superhuman powers to others and began bestowing them onto native criminals, would you ask the non-powered law enforcement to fight them heavily outmatched? Of course not, that'd be ludicrous.

And again, we aren't talking about criminals, but victims. She wanted them bound for no reason other than that they exist!

And even if all of that were true, I think the matter isn't nearly as clear cut as you're making it. RISE exists for imPorts to police our own, we can't simply claim other populations because they may similarly overlap in capability. That is overstepping your authority.
