[Wanda has been back for a day, but hasn't made a network post since her return from being ported back into her home universe for a year and several days in that world's time. It was only two days time here.]

Well, that was my first jarring experience of a porter glitch to go back home for a time that was much longer than my absence here was. I returned here yesterday, but kept mostly silent to just take a day off, so sorry if anyone else was wondering where I was. I was gone for a year and some days, as far as time in my universe was concerned. There was what you might call a civil war among my friends and whatever. [Well, mostly her friends. Tony is still not her friend. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So.] Honestly, I'm glad to be back considering what I just left again. So, if I missed anything particularly noteworthy in my two days absence, anyone please fill me in.

[And she ends it there.]

I think you might be okay on the missed days, at least as far as the big stuff goes. If anything reality-shattering happened, I must have slept right through it.

[Ruby gives a small, sympathetic smile.]

Um, but are you doing okay? I know this kind of thing can be pretty hard to adjust to sometimes.

I would envy the ability to sleep through anything reality-shattering. [She says it with a lighter tone to her voice.] But it's good to know I didn't miss much here.

[She pauses for a moment, then nods.] I think I will be okay, yeah. [At least as okay as she's willing to admit.] You've had this happen frequently, too?

Oh, well, not this exactly? But from what I've heard of how it works, something kind of similar.

Memories getting lost and then later coming back. Time passing and also not passing at the same... time? [She sort of stops and tries to figure out if that sentence made any sense at all, but ends up just shaking her head and laughing at herself a little.] You get the idea.

Definitely sounds similar enough. [At least the sentence isn't as confusing as it COULD be? She laughs slightly as well, though.] Time travel seemed so much cooler in even those cheesy sci-fi movies. I feel kind of ripped off. [Some joking.]

[They may be total strangers, but Ruby's still glad to see Wanda laughing, even if it's just a little. She knows how upsetting this sort of thing can be, especially if the new memories aren't all good ones. And probably double especially if she was being literal about there being a war.]

Maybe there's someplace we can submit a formal complaint. "Porter Customer Service" or something.

[Her slight laugh turns into a much less slight one. Ruby's power must be cheering people up, taking their minds off stuff, or something.] Yes, please. I would co-sign this complaint in a second.

[Okay, Ruby might be looking a little proud of herself after that. But come on, who doesn't feel that way after making a pretty girl laugh?]

I think it could really catch on. "Make time travel cool again."

Or, well, something like that.

Porter glitch?

[ She tips her head to one side, curious. Concerned. ]

Yeah, apparently this happens sometimes. I'm not the first, nor will I be the last I'm sure. [Y...ay.]

Have you recently arrived? [Non judgmental, just curious.]

[ Anything involving the word 'glitch' still worries her. But it doesn't seem to be incredibly uncommon.

She nods. ] Earlier this month. Still trying to adjust.

In that case, welcome. Are you settling in okay? [she can be concerned for the new people here]

Thanks. I'm... [ There's a bit of a wry, unsure look. ] Managing? I have some friends here, which helps, but I'm not used to having powers.

I know a bit about that. [She'd been enhanced by Hydra.] It's ... takes some getting used to, yeah. I was enhanced with abilities when I was still in my world. [She suddenly feels more of a concern for this other woman.] What are your abilities here?

[ Caitlin's not typically so secretive; at least, not about herself. But her ability could be taken advantage of, so it's something she's careful to control the release of information about. ]

Empathy. I can feel what everyone around me is feeling. Change that. Make them feel what I feel. Mostly, right now, it just makes me overwhelmed and gives me headaches. [ She pauses. ] How were you enhanced?

[Wanda could understand that - so, private video feed it is.] Telepathy, telekinesis, and mental manipulation - which also includes having an influence over people's memories, senses, emotions, etcetera.

If I can help you adjust to your powers, even if it's just being someone to vent to, let me know. I know I would have loved to have someone like that around after my experiences, so..

I appreciate the offer. Not many people would do that, offer that, to a total stranger. And I will probably take you up on it.

[ She clears her throat softly. ] That's quite a list, though all in the same vein of sorts. But I—I-I didn't necessarily mean what your abilities are, but more like the process? For example, in my world, we have people who're enhanced. We call them metahumans. They gained their abilities from an explosion of the particle accelerator for which I worked.

I live in Nonah, so whenever you like, you can meet me here if you live elsewhere, or I can come to you. Either's fine by me.

Ah. That. [She nods under understanding at the clarification. Though, an explosion sounds like a hell of a way to gain abilities - painful, too.] Alien technology, as in from actual space, other realm kind of thing. To make a very long, convoluted story shorter: A group of scientists who were working on the side of evil - secretly, none of us knew - were trying to conduct experiments in my country. They needed human volunteers, so they got them. My brother and I were the only survivors of the experiments; he gained super speed.

No, I can come to you. I haven't really seen any of the other imPort cities.

[ She listens closely, nodding. Alien technology, she would have never imagined it. ] Oh my god. I— [ She sighs, rubbing her forehead. ] I hate so-called "scientists" who give our whole community black eyes. I'm sorry that that happened.

[A civil war?]

What happened?

A ... lot. Do you have something strong to drink at the moment, or should we meet up for drinks in person for this one? [Which serves as a bit of a warning, like, on the scale of what happened.]

[Shit.]

Uh, yeah. We can meet. Where's good for you?

[Said in a tone that suggests this is not a relief at all.]

That's me, news of relief from my version of the multiverse. [ha. ha. h a.] All hail our lord and saviour, Tony Stark.

[A pause.]

I can't believe I said that, even sarcastically. I feel like I need a gallon of liquid soap to wash my mouth out with or something.

During ours he arrested me.

Wow, and I thought my sister had an eventful time back home...

I feel like I should be scared to inquire what that was? [seems "eventful" is a theme for a lot around here.]

That's a relief -- I guess I can just go on like normal, then.

Trust me, you don't want to know. [It involved her sister needing to have a creepy, partly machine worm removed from her jaw.]

Yeah. Not that I expect that'll be easy after... A war?

Wasn't that some big argument between Tony Stark and Captain America? That ended really, really poorly.

Like, exploding buildings poorly.

[oh good, they did this through the multiverses too ... way to go, guys.

The mention of "exploding buildings" kind of touches a nerve with her, but she tries not to show it too much.]

That's the one, yeah. Complete with a large helping of political issues. Avengers can't do anything without making some sort of huge mess. [Herself included.]

Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the other Avengers... that's why the subway is shut down every other week.

A "civil war"? That sounds stupid. What happened?

[ Tony Stark please. ]

Well, what else do you call it when a team like the Avengers split sides over an issue? We had some issues over UN documents concerning regulation of enhanced people, especially us - as in the Avengers. The version of you there, that Tony Stark Had A Lot Of Opinions, and Steve Rogers Had A Lot Of Different Opinions, and the Avengers kind of ... rallied around each of you depending on where they stood. I was with Steve, naturally. [just in case he was wondering.]

Oh. You mean like the Superhuman Registration Act?

[ Uh oh. ]

I'm not surprised. That you sided against something like that. How did things end up? [ Who died... ]
