Third Turnabout - Audio;
Hey there, everyone! I've got a question, that hopefully someone can answer.
[ There's a beat, a shuffling of papers. ]
So the classes I'm meant to teach are about wrapped up - just a couple weeks left. And since I had been wondering, before-
Who here is acquainted with the law, here? I assume I'd uh, need to re-apply for the Bar Exam if I wanted to practice, obviously. I just need to know who I need to talk to, if there's special requirements, for ImPorts.
Obviously, I'm not expecting a free pass, or anything, but I know there might be... differences in what I'm used to and here, so! I just want to get things cleared up and hopefully get on track to defending people once more.
If you've got any answers, feel free to get back to me!
Oh and, uh, to everyone else - nice to meet you! My name's Phoenix. I'm uh. Maya's friend, if you know her. I suppose I should have made that clear by now...

[Says Komasan, who is once again in a nearby room. ...And has known about Nick and Maya's friendship for some time now.]
I guess that kinda makes her your aunt, huh, zura?
Re: [Audio]
I think she might feel old if you called her my aunt, Komasan...
(Not to mention, isn't that kind of odd...?)

[His tone doesn't focus enough to be accused of seriousness. The honorable Judge Crane.
Hell, there's a joke in that.]

As for local law, I can send ya some material to read up on. I don't know yer world but there've been some differences from mine.
no subject
Ah, is that so? That's pretty good news, taking the Bar last time took forever...
I can't guarantee my differences are the same as your differences, but a book or two never went wrong, and hearing what the big differences are will give me a leg up.

[ He let out a faint laugh; sure. Why not. He'll introduce himself. ]
Detective Tohru Adachi, sir. Well, at least, a detective back home.
Re: [Audio]
[ He... kind of enjoys that fact. Even if it's taken him a long time to realize that. ]
Good to meet someone else working with the law. Have you had to jump through any hoops, being an imPort?

I can't say if there's any requirements but if you already passed the Bar Exam once and have experience in the field it shouldn't be too hard to get back in, right?
Re: Text
I suppose not, and that's what everyone's saying. I have a Defense Attorney's badge to prove I passed the Bar back home.
...Though on second thought, I don't know if badges would be a good proof, here.

[Totally moseys on in here. Let him love you, Feenie.]
I'm Keith, Keith Goodman! Although I myself am not acquainted, I wonder truly and truly again if you ever managed to get ahold of Mister Petrov. He was a judge back home.
[Still recommending him even after finding out he's..um. Well. Lunatic. Whoops. What is his life even.]

video;
ImPorts are often exempted from proper law enforcement, so even people who commit crimes like murder are let out of prison within months, and probation officers that get assigned to them are also imPorts. One of those people... just got out recently, and is an enemy of ours.
If anything, I think if you just asked, they'd give you a badge. That's how easygoing they are on us, probably because they don't see us as people.
video;
...I forgot, it's less a matter of murder and more... personal property destruction, huh?

Or do we just not get a lot of imPort lawyers through?

[It's probably not a terrible idea to mention Maya anyway. She's awfully popular, after all.]
I figure you'll wanna talk to the bigwigs in charge of all that legal stuff, but you might wanna do a lot of reading up on imPort law. Not to jinx you or anything, but if you're gonna be a defense lawyer, you're probably gonna be representing a loooot of imPorts.

[ He sounds like he's nodding as Jaime explains. ]
That's what I'm expecting, yes. With all the differences in laws from their own homes, I imagine Import Law is a mess to tangle.
