[ the feed comes on to show a boy with very tall hair and a much shorter girl with scratches on her face over her eye, one looking rather cheerful and the other less so. ]

Hi hi hi everyone, I have an important question. [ he holds up a finger, tilts his head as if a thought had just occurred to him. he's so preoccupied he was going to launch himself into his spiel without even introducing himself. ] I'm being rude. I am Henry Cheng, and we were wondering —

[ the not so tall and in fact very short girl interrupts. ] We're looking for someone we know! [ she pulls a little face, looking over at Mr. Henry Cheng. ] A few people, actually. [ okay, maybe that was a little rude. she murmurs something unintelligible and takes a step back. please, proceed. ]

And that was my lovely friend Blue. [ he gestures with a flourish toward her, shoots her a wink, absolutely unbothered by the interruption or her outburst. ] As she said, we are looking for someone. Multiple someones. I'm sure this place has a list of sorts, yes? A quick way to CTRL-F a friend's name and find out their status?

[ he looks a bit more serious, then, like underneath the cheerfulness he's exhausted. his next words are very earnest. ]

We would appreciate any info. Thank you.

[ in the background, Blue begins tromping away, shedding dead leaves for some reason, and can be vaguely heard to say 'maybe we should've mentioned Gansey by name' before the video ends. ]

[ She nods slowly. ] Okay, so that sounds similar to what this says about me. At home it's just psychic stuff, but here it says it's all imPort abilities? [ She's got the folder again and is reading from it. Or at least referencing it. ]

I didn't try it. I don't know if that means I can nullify powers or just stop myself from making them stronger. I should probably test it.

[ She frowns thoughtfully. ]

You could try it on me. I can shapeshift - there's not really any chance of that going wrong if your powers are very different.

[ She leans in slightly. ] Shapeshift? [ And leaning back again. ] I thought that might be something I could do. But it's something different. Plant physiology or something.

[ Back to Kitty. ] How does shapeshifting work?

[ She takes a breath, then ventures - ]

Well, it's sort of...I just concentrate on what I want to look like, and if the picture's clear enough in my head, I can become it. Like this -

[ And a little flick of magic, and instead of a girl, there's a cat in frame. Or, well. A cat sort of out of frame; she wanders back to put herself in the center of the camera again. ]

But not just cats. I can be just about anything.

[ If the phone weren't already propped up on something, Blue might've dropped it. As it is, her eyes go a bit wider and she leans in a second time. ] So it's not just people.

[ She's not going to mention that she assumed she'd have the power to turn into a tree. That sounds really weird now she thinks about it. ]

That's got to be really useful.

It is. You can get a lot more done as a tiger than you can as a girl, let me tell you.

[ Her ears flick. ]

Plants, though...I don't think I can do plants. It's got to be animals. I wonder what that does mean, plant physiology...

That says a lot about the world. [ Tiny feminist coming through. ]

According to what I'm reading, I don't have to eat regular food anymore. [ She huffs and drops the folder in her lap. ] I'm not about to test that!

What - d'you photosynth... [ Uh - What would the verb form be? ] Photosynthize, then?

[ She looks at the screen with her mouth hanging open a little. ] I guess I must.

That's strange.

Sounds bloody convenient, if you ask me. No need to spend money on food any longer. And you can travel without having to ever stop for food.

That's true. What if I just power down every night or something though? [ That's a freaky thought. ] And what about in winter? If I'm here that long...

[ Should she not have said that? It's all getting a little muddled. ]

Well, you could get a grow-light or something.

I could. Just carry it around with me. [ She smiles a little. ] Actually, I could ask Henry.

What - does he give off light or something?

Yes, he glows or something like that. [ She looks off-screen for a second. ] It suits him.

Huh. Well, that's symbiotic, isn't it?

I guess it is, isn't it? [ This is strange. How many times has she thought that since arriving here? A lot. Anyway. ] I'm sure you'll meet him if you spend any time hanging around any of us. He's not a bad person to have as a friend.

I've never heard them mention him before. Usually they're very - [ Incestuous? Up each other's arses? ] Open about their friendships.

He sort of joined us recently. [ She looks like she's considering something. ] Maybe they don't remember. What if Gansey doesn't remember? [ She does not like that thought at all. ]

[ Kitty flicks her ears and says, practically: ]

Then you'll tell him that he's a good person, and he'll take your word for it and accept him at once, I should think. In my observation, the two things Gansey likes best is collecting people and listening to you.

[ Eegads. Please don't pass along the fact that Blue just blushed at those words. Please, please, please. ]

He'll probably get an earful from me if he doesn't remember Henry. [ She says this a bit weakly, like she really has no intention of doing so. ] I hope he does though. I'd want him to remember the things that happened since we met Henry, for the most part.

Really? It's good things that have happened, I hope.

[ She looks unsure, then frowns, then seems to be trying to school her expression into neutrality. ] Some good. Some not.

[ A hesitation. Her tail curls around her. ]

Anything you'd like to talk about? - No is an okay answer.

[ In some respects, it's easier to consider talking about this in this particular setting. To a cat. To a girl who currently looks like a cat. ]

I don't know. [ ... ] I don't know what Gansey's talked about here. Or me, I guess.
