I can't say from personal experience, but that's a remarkable ability. I can imagine why it seems that way, but it's really just an intellectual tool you can use to your advantage. Your teleportation ability and function makes a fair bit more sense.

Do you have a particular field of interest?

I also need to be in free-fall to be able to teleport.

Not really? I would be more interested in finding someone super smart and like, learn from them.

Well there's no shortage of scientists among the imPort population. Engineering types for the most part, but there's a couple physicists and the odd biologist.

What kind of doctor you are?

My PhD was in Computer Science & Engineering actually, but in truth I've done more work in theoretical physics in recent years.

You wouldn't be looking for an assistant, maybe?

[An assistant? Well, he could afford to pay one and technically she might be too young to hold a proper job]

I can't say I've been looking for an assistant, and I'm not the easiest person to get along with.

But if you'd like to come by the lab at any point, I'm working in the biotechnological division for Starktech at the moment. My fiance is a biologist and my lab partner- brilliant man, for all he may not act it.

My best friend back home is a Technomancer and he's sort of difficult to deal with sometimes, so I think I've got that much covered.

Either way, going and checking what you're working on it's something to do, even if you don't want an assistant.

Dr. Geiszler and I have been working without interns or assistants for long enough that it simply hasn't occurred to us as something to look into. If you can weather our arguments and find yourself interested in learning either or even both fields however, then it's entirely possible.

Sure, the school I was going until recently was filled of things supposedly impossible by human standards, so my threshold for brain breaking things is pretty high.
