[The sun has nearly set, but from in between pearly white panels of lace curtains, the last of its molten glow is still visible, the horizon on fire—a befitting backdrop for one Yuri Petrov. Known to some, still a stranger to others, and so very weary despite the freshness of his fine-featured middle-aged face, he affords his audience a subdued smile, one that, were it not for his mismatched dress-outs, might give the impression that he is fresh from a spa visit and not a month spent in a power-dampened prison cell.]

My name, for those of you who do not know, is Yuri Petrov. Once, not all that long ago, I also called myself Lunatic and, in April of this year, I attempted and failed to take the life of Ken Kaneki. Shortly after confessing to this offense I was tried, found guilty, and incarcerated. However, the imprisonment of imPorts is unfortunately short-lived in this world, and as of today...I have been released.

I thought you all should know; call it a courtesy, if you will, the only one I am fit to offer you at present.

[Better it should come from him, in other words, lest people think that he's attempting to hide again, and that won't do at all. Not if he's hoping to appear, or actually intending to attempt being committed to change.]

It should please you all to know that my freedom is not without its limitations. I've been denied access to my abilities for the time being, a strict curfew has been implemented for me to follow, and as many of you who've been in my position know, I must also answer to an imPort probation officer. Jonathan Joestar will, I'm sure, happily receive your comments and concerns if you should have any.

[As the last of the sun's light behind him begins to fade and Yuri turns his head to gaze out the window, he concludes his broadcast with one final somber thought...]

Oh, how mean he could be...but what would it accomplish? He would not only be hurting Dorian, but Toby and himself as well.]

Don't make this about you. Tobias has been kind to me and I've no reason to wish him anything but the best.

I'm me, [ Dorian responded with a laugh. ] Of course I'm going to make this about me!

Dorian wasn't expecting that answer. Still, he manages to keep his face calm, with just a hint of a frown on his face as mulls this over. Because yes, Toby is kind and wonderful and amazing and everybody should pay attention to him. But that big part of Dorian is just seething that Yuri is putting Toby over him.

After all, Dorian is a man who thrives on attention. ]

It only makes sense, I suppose. There's less bad blood between the two of you than us—less reminder of what could have been.

I assure you, it isn't quite so complex. He is a better man...that is all there is to it.

[ There's a pause...then a small, slightly bitter laugh from Dorian's end. ]

You think I don't know that?

I trust you do, but knowing and caring are two different things, and I don't believe for a moment that you care how low you have and may yet still fall...so long as you aren't alone in your descent.

On the contrary, you're wrong. If Toby wants to get off this wild ride at any point in time, I won't stop him. I'll fight tooth and nail to get him back but that's what you do for people you love. [ Dorian pauses, then fixes Yuri with a mock frown. ] That's...that's something you wouldn't know anything about, I'm afraid.

[ wamp wamp waaaaaaamp. ] In another world, in another time, perhaps I could have changed that.

[ but, you know, murders. ]

Perhaps. If you were more like Tobias.

[ It would have been better for so many people if he were more like Tobias. ]

Perhaps. But then I wouldn't be me, would I?

Why should I? It's in my habit to boast, just as it is in yours to make philosophical comments about the nature of sin. And are we not, in our own ways, both creatures of habit?

He should be the only reason you need. If you love him as much as you say you do, that is.

[Doesn't really answer that second question, but it sure does address the first.]

[ Dorian briefly moves his hand in front of the camera...look at his wedding band buddy, how's that for a sign that he loves Toby as much as he says he does? ]

I should stop gloating because it'll make Toby jealous? Is that what you're implying? [ well buddy, Toby liked it so he put a ring on it ]

No, because it's disrespectful.

He'd tolerated Dorian's ways when they were together before because it was the only way to keep him close, to get close enough to his portrait, but this? Even if these words are empty boasts, this talk is inappropriate.]
