[ Pearl has been here for over two days now, yet has only mustered up the gall to step outside once (excluding her arrival). She's been restless, unable to calm down for the bulk of those two days and it shows in her fidgeting.

She was also very hesitant to use the network since she'd practically be putting herself out there in front of possibly hundreds of strangers. But, well. Here we are. She begins with a diffident, shaky tone. ]

H-Hello, my name is Pearl Fey. I'm not very sure how to use a celery phone, but I'm looking for my cousin, Mystic Maya. She was - [ Pause. She's trying to remember the word. Also, she meant cellular, not celery. ] - kid... napped, by a very bad man.

If anyone knows who kid napped her, please tell me...!

[ Although she is much too engrossed in her Maya problem to really wonder if the phones are celery, or to even wonder why a talking animal was on video with her, she offers a lukewarm and distracted response. ]

These are called celery phones, right? [ But it kind of sounds more like a statement than a question. ]

Her name is Mystic Maya. [ Said very seriously and informatively... even in these dire times, Pearl still feels the need to make sure people don't slander her perfect cousin's name. ]

She was kid napped three days ago. We were at the Gatewater Imperial Hotel together... [ She begins to tear up thinking about it. ] Then, I woke up in Hero-pah.

[ Now that Edgeworth's been gone for a whole month, Maya's finally in Heropa to start moving her stuff out of the apartment they once shared. There's no point in staying there now, after all. She isn't looking at the comm all too often, preoccuping herself with packing and sorting things into boxes (a whole box full of Pink Princess prototype merchandise that is now likely to go to one of Ken's friends at school) instead.

But like magic, that Fey intuition-- or feyte fate-- Maya picks up her communicator at just the right time when she stops to take a break.

And then she nearly drops the communicator, jumping and squeaking in surprise when she sees Pearl on the screen.

It still takes her a few moments to actually answer, though, because as soon as she hears Pearl's voice she starts to dart out of her room, headed for the front door--

until she realises that, well, she doesn't have a clue where Pearl is. ]

Pearly? Pearly, is that really you?

[Maya looks exasperated, among other things, her hair a messy bun and her clothes definitely not at all a Kurain uniform.]

M-Mystic Maya! It's me! [ It's only been three days, give or take, since they were last together, but it's felt like an eternity to Pearl. Especially with all of this other stuff happening. Of course she notices the differences in Maya's appearance, but she'd be a fool to bring such trivial things up now, when Maya is being held for ransom! ]

Where are you? Are you hurt? Who did this to you?! I'll come find you!! [ She suddenly bears a tough and angry expression, but that's only to hide her extreme panic and desire to cry. ]

[ Wow, she can't see this guy's face. Immediately he becomes a suspect in the Kidnapping of Mystic Maya™. ]

I don't know. I've only ever heard his voice. [ But with the small number of male-sounding voices she has ever heard in her life, it could basically be anyone. ]

Any luck finding Mystic Maya yet?

[ because yeah, there's a Maya here, but who knows if that's her Maya. ]

Ah, yes. [ Well, she responded to Pearl's video, but Pearl still hasn't seen her in person or know how to get to her. ] I've only seen her on the celery phone, but I'm sure I'll see her in person soon.

[It's a weird feeling to look at a video of a girl and realize you know her. Ken actually feels a little stupid for not remembering her, and he also feels stupid for looking at Pearl's clothes now and realizing he never recognized it when he first met Maya.

Still, it seems that this Pearl has no memories of her previous time here so Ken pushes it back.]

Maya-san is out on an errand, I think. She's here... and she's not kidnapped right now, at least.

[ Sorry Ken, it's true that she doesn't remember you. And her opinion of you is completely different this time too. ]

I don't know anybody named Mayason. My cousin's name is Mystic Maya. [ She doesn't sound very convinced that he even knows who she's talking about, in fact. ] Where is here? How can you be certain she's not kid napped?

(wendy doesn't do reassuring very often, but she makes an attempt for a little girl who looks like she's going onto the bad side of terrified.) Hey, hey it's okay. I'm Wendy, I know Maya. I can help you find her. You're sure she was kidnapped?

[ She doesn't know how many times she has to nitpick this one imperative detail that people keep missing, but she is interested in Wendy's offer nonetheless. ]

Her name is Mystic Maya. Yes, I'm certain it was three days ago.

Yes, Mystic Maya was kid napped. [ Passive aggression runs rampant in her tone. Know your place, man, no one is allowed to call her just Maya! But he does seem to have some valuable information. ]

If your cousin is Maya Fey, she's safe. You don't need to worry about her.

[ Pearl becomes a little suspicious at the ambiguity of that statement, but Mitsuru herself doesn't seem like she'd kidnap someone. Also, the voice of the kidnapper that Pearl heard definitely didn't sound like Mitsuru's, no matter which way she looks at it. ]

I am very worried about Mystic Maya! How can you be sure she's safe?

[Bianca goes over to where Pearl is sitting, with some milk and a sandwich.]

Any luck finding out about your cousin, sweetie?

[There's only so much calming down that can be done in a situation like this. She's glad Pearl's become willing to use the network to ask.]

[ She's still a little shy around the new people she lives with, but she can tell they're exceedingly kind even only after such a short time with them. She offers a demure and somewhat reserved smile. ]

She spoke to me on the celery phone! We're going to see each other soon. [ Pearl is in a much more relaxed state than she was before resorting to the network. ]

Thank you very much, Mrs. Reyes. [ She contentedly sips at the milk, but leaves the sandwich untouched. Eating is hard when you're nervous (which she will continue to be until she sees Maya in the flesh). ]
