i know some people came here with these powers from their home world.
but some of us didn't. some of us were normal, until we weren't. and i know i can't be the only one who is afraid of what we were given.

why do we have these powers?
to make us useful? to keep us in line?

and is there any way we can shut it off?

i guess as long as you can control it, you can move on from there. not everyone will have that luxury.

Ah ... well. I've gotten better. It helps having a few safety nets. And a few people who can undo it if worse comes to worst.

Very much so. I'm quite grateful for their presence.

And that's an absolute fact. I had nothing before coming here..

i mean that in comparison to active government conspiracy. something with agency that, in your case, has a sense of the cruel and ironic.

Ah. That I'm not entirely sure about. It may be less a sentient irony and more ... whatever effect this is interacting with something inherent about me.

Anyway - if you are truly endangered, you do have options. I know three people with outright power cancellers, for dire emergencies. And there used to be someone here who could make power dampeners.

i'm afraid of the endangerment i might cause other people. i'd appreciate the help, even if it's just a fast fix.
like medication or like the devices the government uses?

Powers, in their cases. Rather temporary. The device itself is more of a bracelet, I think. I'd have to ask my engineer - she received most of the Hamadas' tech supplies.
