This is Hood.

[ The sounds are unmistakable; the clinking of glasses, soft rock music, muted chatter. Hood's on a bar, be it for the booze or for the memories, he ain't telling. It's a little bit of both, really. At least in there he can pretend the crazy world he's been dumped into exists at all. As long as he doesn't walk out again there's nothing to worry, right? ]

Someone fucked up. [ There's a hint of irritation in his voice. ] They wanted a hero, they got me. I'm honored, really, but I sort of quit that life. [ Being a cop and being a hero aren't exactly the same, but that's as close as he's ever going to get. ]

I get it, though. No going back, at least not willingly. Fine. [ A pause; that whiskey isn't going to drink itself. ]

Just... you go your way, I go mine. Got it.

Good.

[ As if he would wait for an actual reply, pffft. ]

[Daisy cocked a brow at that. She had heard the noise in the background, but that didn't give her a location. Other than a bar.]

Where?

Aren't those the best?

[ Either she wants to come or not, he's okay with both.

A moment later he sends her his location. ]

I'll even buy the first round.

[Well. This was better than just laying in bed thinking way too much on everything wrong in her life, right?

Getting up out of bed:]

Be there in a bit.

[Getting changed into something other than pajamas, Daisy headed out to meet this guy she just met at a bar. What? A free drink was a free drink.

Now she just had to figure out which person in this bar was him.]

Here now. Where are you sitting?

[ Rather than answering, Hood clears his throat. Loudly.

He saw her the moment she walked in, of course, so when she looks over they'll eyes will meet.

He doesn't say a word, doesn't make a movement. He just stares deep into her eyes and waits for her to come over. ]

[Daisy had just sent the message when she looks over and sees some guy staring at her.

Moving towards him, Daisy shoved her hands in her back pockets.]

Either you're Hood or just some guy staring at me.

[ He slides a jar of beer on the bar so it ends in front of her. ]

Take a risk, then.

[Looking from the glass to him, Daisy gave a half roll of her eyes as she moved to take a sit next to him.]

Well, you don't exactly look like a superhero.

[latro]

Neither do you.

[ A soft shrug. ]

I'm taking it as a compliment.

[Daisy let out a snort at that.]

It's all the black, right?

[To be fair, she use to wear dresses and color a lot more a few years ago.]

[ He looks at her, the intensity of his stare everpresent. ]

Maybe, but not quite. You look...

[ He stops himself, turning to take a drink. Maybe he's coming too strong. ]

[Yeah. Why is he staring at her like that? Either way, she can give it right back to him.]

[latro]

You look like the world has disappointed you one too many times.

[ There we go. His stare remains intense, but it melts away a bit. ]

You look like you're done being a hero.

[Welp.

Daisy should look away but instead she just continues to stare right back at him.]

I've never been a hero.

[ Not in the traditional way. Or in many ways. ]

But I know a thing or two about disappointment. Cheers.

[ And clink goes the glasses. ]

[Well this conversation was going great.]

[ Another small shrug. ]

[ He's still staring though. ]

[Daisy takes another sip of her beer before placing it back on the counter and holding a hand out to him.]

Daisy.

[latro]

[ a handshake it is, okay. ]

Daisy. Who is not a villain. Okay.

[Daisy took another swig of her beer, all the while staring at him.]

You totally had a superhero name, didn't you?

[latro]

Not at all.

[ Hood raises a hand and the bartender comes with two beers. He doesn't check for the brand. ]

Unless this one counts.

[Well. Guess he was paying for the second round too?]
