So hey, if you destroyed that file they gave you, when you first arrived? The one with all those little details about you? Doesn't actually matter, because they've got a copy of it somewhere. Or something really like it.
Just thought that should be publicly known--it figures, right. That's the government for you. Keeping tabs on all of us.
I've been locked up for a-- week, a week and a half. Kept on my own. Not because of what I did, because I didn't do anything. And they're still not ready t' let me out. They keep saying the investigation is ongoing. [He actually sounds sort of amused by that--grim, dark, but amused.] Something about it's got t' be going right, because they're giving me little privileges back, one piece at a time. Or maybe they're just trying to keep me happy.
Or maybe someone's hoping it'll be enough to earn allegiance out of me, some-- deal with the devil kind of thing. Who knows how the hell all of these pieces are connected here. It's a slow process, whatever process they're going off of. Guess with all their superheroes running around, stopping crime, they don't have t' worry about overcrowding in their jails.
But, hey. At least it's still basically 1950, so smoking's still considered a basic human right. [human ha ha] Except I'm almost out. And I'm out of crosswords, and I'm fucking bored.
[AND NOT HAPPY but whatever that's "wrongful imprisonment" for you.]
One thing's for sure. Whoever got me into this? Whoever, or whatever--I'm not forgetting it.

What earned you your spot there? You aren't like that other guy.
[Other guy isn't specified, but he means Lucifer.]
voice.
[Dry, and pissed off--but pretty controlled, all things considered.]
And I don't really know, that's the thing of it. I've been here long enough to know I'm being blamed for a crime I can't even remember doing, that I wouldn't have done. Lots of witnesses, no real evidence. It's great.

[this doesn't actually surprise him—but mortal law vs. people with powers thing, who's unprepared? then again, he'll save his little "I told you so"s for later.]
AUDIO.
It's just that I didn't do it, and I don't remember doing it, that's the whole part that sticks. So I guess you could say it's gaps. Or more like huge important pieces that are 'unaccounted for'.

[ part of why she doesn't bother hiding. ]
You can't be held that long without a charge. What charge do they have?
voice.
[But he really should have known. There was just so much going on, when he arrived, too much, easily overwhelming.]
And they've got their charges, and their witnesses. A whole bus full of people that I took hostage. The thing is, I didn't do it, and I wouldn't have, and I don't remember doing it--but none of that's exactly good enough.

You're not the only one who doesn't remember their crime, you know. Chances are, you did do it - it just wasn't actually you.

[To be arrested for a crime they claim they didn't commit. It's a common situation recently and one that's got his attention. If not for the sheer fact that one of his own got mixed up in all of it.]
[His voice echoes on his side of the line. Where ever he is, it seems it's a bit below ground.] Anything else you remember? [He'll get to the matter of the files later.]
➥ AUDIO |
[The weird echo is a little unnerving, but he can ignore a lot, when it comes down to it.]
And what are you asking for? Are you here as some representative?

I mean, I'm just saying, dude. Between "the government wants your help so they decided to imprison you" and uh, "you're a freaking criminal," I'd be putting my money on door number two.

But hey, mate, thanks for the effort. Keep up that crap job of reporting and you could start writing for their excuse of a newspaper.

Not really surprising that they've got a copy. Like you said. Governments. Not a huge fan myself. [Just really, really shitty.]
Why'd they lock you up?

And they've told me I took a bus full of people hostage. Lots of witnesses, except for me.

[super dry tone to answer that snark!]
And I don't think I'm at liberty to give out that information over an open network. Guess you'd have to come and see for yourself if you really wanted t' find out.
