Those of you from an alternate Earth, what similarities or differences have you noticed between this world and yours? Specifically, I'm looking to pinpoint where a great deal of our common ground lies, and if there's a trend where most timelines appear to diverge. Discussion encouraged.

Why is that natural?

Giant monsters invaded our world. Humanity's future as a whole was very uncertain.

The Jaegers were our weapons against the Kaiju. For those not safely inland, they were essential to defending coastal populations and keeping the Kaiju at bay.

However, the Kaiju grew larger and more numerous, while the Jaegers were costly to the world's economy. So in 2020, the UN began to decommission them in favor of building a wall..

The future looked very bleak then.

The Kaiju were growing larger and more numerous. A wall was never going to hold them indefinitely. Anyone with a lick of sense would have understood that. Walls are comforting concepts, but they aren't solutions. It was an utter waste of the world's resources, unlike the Jaegers that were actually demonstrably effective.

I will never understand the point of attempting to save a global economy when the whole of humanity was at stake.
