Those of you from an alternate Earth, what similarities or differences have you noticed between this world and yours? Specifically, I'm looking to pinpoint where a great deal of our common ground lies, and if there's a trend where most timelines appear to diverge. Discussion encouraged.

There is a whole sentient species in my world, somewhat similar to humans, which doesn't exist in this one. They are called "ghouls". Anything related to them, - such as capture, neutralization and research centers, learning and training facilities against ghouls - doesn't exist here, either.

Aside that, most things are similar. Geography, technology and development. Not politics, however, since my world's politics involve the existence of ghouls as well.

Well, I wouldn't exactly call it alternate but it seems like most people here are pretty much Earth-bound and that's just sad! I mean, no one here has even heard of the Vegas Quadrant!

It is unfortunate, but not all worlds have mastered space travel on a grand scale. Here, Vegas only refers to a city in this country.

The Cold War had ended.

Cars are similar in that they hover rather than use wheels.

But another difference is that there are no omnics here. Of any kind. At least that I haven't come across.

The cities look like the dead ones that the humans used to live in, but working and full of life. By their calendar also I think mine is further ahead in time.

[The feed shows the tall twelve year old curious at Hermann's words.] For the most part, this world has (with the exception of the Porter) more or less they same technology. We have TV, videogames, modern computers, phones etc. The major difference is that in my world exists sentient creatures with powers that work side by side with humans called Pokémon.

A lot of careers revolve around Pokémon, from Pokémon Coordinator to Breeder, to trainers and even nurses and doctors. Scientists have been trying to figure out Pokémon mysteries for hundreds of years at the very least.

How did Newton usually maneuver around situations like this again?]

Oh, yes. I believe I've seen something of a documentary on Pokemon before. And the world has always been that way?

[Although come to think of it, this kid's not from Earth, technically. Not that Hermann's geek enough to know all the lore, but the Pokemon world doesn't resemble Earth.

More pressingly, how is 'reality' defined?]

this planet and mine share the same space in the solar system, but that's where the similarities end. my planet had the cetra as a species of pre-humans and the lifestream.

Share the same space. That's a bit vague.

Are you saying your planet was developed by these cetra, rather than natural occurrences? What is the lifestream?

Well, there's the elves, of course.

And the cold war.

Now that I think about it, the elvin lands existing would mean that the planet is probably larger than humans think it is, although I don't think it's significant.

Yes, where were those lands located? We've explored the globe rather extensively on a surface scale, but the oceans for example, remain fairly mysterious.

a lot more species natively exist where I'm from. Angels, demons, paranormal types. And the superheroes. All bastards who like to meddle, at that.

As far as politics go the Berlin wall fell and the economy was much more shite. Don't think my world's America was quite so... pleasant, either.

From your description, it sounds as though they've always existed?

[ Well, Raina is certainly interested in the latter. She needs all the scientific help she can get, but she decides to ease into the conversation by contributing to Hermann's personal research first. Give a little something like information and take a bit more in the end -- hopefully. ]

My world is quite similar to this one. Though the one unique thing about it is that I've found there is a parallel universe similar to my own where some of the same events take place and a lot of the same people exist, but it diverges at other points. Tony Stark, for example, is from my world -- but the Tony Stark who is here is from that alternate universe.
