Those of you from an alternate Earth, what similarities or differences have you noticed between this world and yours? Specifically, I'm looking to pinpoint where a great deal of our common ground lies, and if there's a trend where most timelines appear to diverge. Discussion encouraged.

As well, if there are any research institutions with room for a theoretical physicist and biologist interested in solving the mysteries of this world, please do get in touch.

Including the Cold War?

I'd wondered if there were any other worlds where that was still happening. Unfortunate.

Any differences to how this one has progressed so far?

Oh... no... We had a Cold War, but it's over now.

What year was it on your Earth?

2008. [ No, wait. ] I mean 2009.

[2009. What was important back in 2009? God, it's hard to remember much before the Kaiju anymore]

You're American, aren't you? There was a new President, I believe.

[Historical apparently. But for another reason entirely once the Kaiju emerged]

[Faced with monsters near the end of his first term, and he was among the first to call for global unity against the threat. Little wonder he was re-elected]

No other differences to this one? I imagine you don't have imPorts in your Earth at least.

Well. There's a giant alien dome in southern California, covering this whole town, and inside the dome are only kids. [ She points to herself and grins. Guess who's from the dome! ]

[If this were video, Hermann would look rather disturbed.]

Uh, no, human ones.

[ She sounds kind of offended. ]

Could you elaborate on that a bit?

Probably not. I mean, I only lived there.

[ She's not being sarcastic, really. ]

You don't have any idea why the dome exists or why children are kept in it?

[It just seems very suspect really]

No, not really. I was going to boarding school when the dome appeared, and everybody over the age of fifteen disappeared at the same time.

[How does this keep getting weirder]

Around when did that happen?

I told you, 2008. A couple weeks before Thanksgiving.

[Not generally a patient man, he's at least slightly more forgiving of children]

Anything else of note that you recall?

Okay, so like fifteen years before the dome showed up, this asteroid [ it was a meteorite ] crashed into the power plant at Perdido Beach. They said they cleaned up all the radiation from that, but everyone still called Perdido Beach "Fallout Alley." So the exact center of the dome is where the power plant is, and everyone knows that it has something to do with the dome, but man, I was just a soldier. I don't know about that science stuff.

[This child cannot possibly get more perplexing]

Wonderful. So are you older than you look or did someone recruit children for an army?
