Tetsuo's gone.

[It's the hardest thing Kaneda's ever been able to admit, and a large part of him didn't even want to make this broadcast. Something about how this was his business, or how it meant admitting defeat in his search for his best friend and family. His voice lacks the confidence it usually has, the undertone almost a soft squeak, as if he's trying to hold back tears.

That may explain why this is audio.]

[There's an audible inhale and exhale, gloves covering his mouth as he thinks some things over.] So...I'll be taking over Neo Tokyo til I can kick his ass for ditching me with it. You know how to find me.

[They'd gotten off to a rough start. A really rough start, in fact. But looking back, Josuke thinks that those rough patches had helped them more than hurt them. It seemed they could both weather some nasty barbs and punches, and maybe something like respect was the result? Maybe...

In any case, Josuke doesn't regret a single moment. And he won't forget, either.]

I agree. [Keep moving? Yeah, he can do that. Back in Morioh it was all he could do. So hearing Kaneda say it now...it feels right. Not good, but then again, loss never felt good, did it?] Gotta give him lots to complain about when he comes back, right? All that catching up he'll have to do.

[He pauses, and then laughs a little.]

I'm down for dunking his head, for the record.

[Kinda like a friendly initiation back into the fold.]

[There's no other start with Tetsuo, really. As the boy's best friend AND brother, he'd gotten thrown into a door within the first week, and that was a good start with all things considered. Tetsuo just didn't make friends with small talk.]


Believe me, he's going to be sour for WEEKS once he gets back. Pout and refuse to eat anything unless I smother it in chocolate or something.


[That part he’d be more than happy to do for him, though. Tetsuo’s face whenever he found a new food he liked was akin to watching the sun rise.]


If anything, we're going easy on him with the koi pond.
