Manipulating the science of space time seems improbable, if not impossible. If we embrace the simplified understanding provided to us via means of science-fiction, usually born of the writers with limited understanding of such concepts and working with what they understand to make sense on an artistic or entertainment level rather then scientific, then doubtless it is easier to stomach the possibility. In the past my research into such topics has inevitably lead to a multitude of fan discussions of topics, many of which devolved into trolling of varying levels of skill and intelligence. I hope that my research here does not fall victim to such tendencies, but my expectations are low.

My understanding of theories of the Einstein-Rosen bridge, however, would suggest that if two different pieces of space-time were connected then a tunnel would be formed that could lead you through billions of years, to alternate universes and dimensions, or possible result in a paradox is the leap was such that you confronted yourself in the past. How these wormholes would be linked to technology without deliberate action and control remains a point of confusion. I will conduct further research. I wondered if it would be possible for multiple bridges to verge into one central bridge, resulting in all of us arriving here.

I have never been to America before. It is as overbearing and loud as popular culture would suggest, but I like the pink lemonade.

although, interesting: The Doctor is linked to Clara Oswald, Clara Oswald is linked to Cosima Niehaus. Clever clone. Bright and chirpy. Another puzzle piece. It occurs to her that it could be worth meeting the Doctor, to learn more, or it could be very risky. Giving any ground to someone who was not one of them, not a clone, and what could happen?

Her chest feels seized up, and her hands shake a little as she opens up a jar and pops one of her Risperdal, tapping the heel of her hand against her forehead. Think think think think think think, come on, MK. )

( ... And that's that. She is already learning a little about her shadow powers, after reading through her file over and over and over. It did not give her any more clues beyond what she already knew, and it infuriates her, but she knows she can hide in shadows. Malls are generally too well lit to be very conducive to shadows, but she can still make herself invisible and small in other ways - a teenage girl with messy, dark hair in a purple hoody disappears easily in many places. She is there early, watching, and studied the mall's maps and layout.

When the Doctor arrives at their meeting point, she watches him. Tall. Strange man. Seems to take children under his wing, and be odd and eccentric on the network. Knows about time. She is not a child, though.

She is standing behind him when there is the little beep of a watch timer being set, and her voice is soft, accent Finnish. )

( She holds herself awkwardly, like the space she inhabits in the world is heavy and presses against her, one shoulder stiffer and held just fractionally higher than the other. A rabbit, poised and ready to bolt. Her skin is pale, and her face could well be familiar - but younger, at least ten years younger, and the right side of hers is burned, long-healed scar tissue rippling over her cheek and neck as she pulls her hair forward over it out of habit. ) Hello, the Doctor.

When he hears her voice, the Doctor turns around, giving MK a confused look which quickly settles into a smile. Oh. Oh dear. She's just a kid. Just a kid who's lost her only friend and asks him if it's possible to prevent the deaths of thirty eight others. A kid who looks jumpy, like she'd rather be anywhere but here (and who looks oddly familiar, come to think of it, in a way that the Doctor can't place.)

Well now he's definitely got to be her friend. The Doctor's the sort to instantly rush to the aid of a crying child, no matter what the circumstances. And while she's not crying and MK will probably fight that definition of child, she's close enough that his protection instincts kick in full gear. He's not going to let any of his concern show, of course. He's got a feeling Lamb Chop over here might dislike it to begin with. ]

Just 'Doctor' will work—you don't have to use the 'the.' And hello yourself, MK. Ready to get some terrible food?

You're definitely on the right track. Operating a time machine is like finding the entrance to that tunnel...I never included a spatial manipulator, personally, but it would simply be a matte of...to put it crudely, stretching the tunnel in multiple directions.

( Skeets said they were very sweet and sugary, and MK has opted to trust the culinary opinions of an AI for reasons she is not certain of. Perhaps because machines are more reliable than people, oftentimes. Programmes run in certain ways, follow instructions, have rules for existing that are more absolute than the rules of people. Computers did not betray: people did. Data was raw facts. Her fingers itch to grab another of her pills, but she resists it. Too public, too new a person.

Nervously, she glances at the watch, hand twisting at the strap of her backpack that contains basically everything she owns. )

I have, [ the Doctor explains as he walks towards the mall, expecting MK to keep up with him. That's the way this is going to work: after all, she said she'd come to the mall to get chips, they're going to get chips. Or maybe some sort of awful greasy pizza. They do have options, after all. ]

I'm Scottish, naturally grumpy, and not a big fan of sweet things. [ because he lives in Florida, the iced tea is sweet tea ] Tried it, don't really like it. Still, that doesn't mean it's awful, just that it's not my thing.
