[ Tabris squints at the camera, moving it back and forth until she's sure that she can be clearly seen. Strange magic, but she's getting used to it. ]

Okay, so. This one is for all of the nonhumans of us out there. Sorry, shems.

[ She's not sorry. ]

Alright, so, I don't know about you guys, but having a couple hundred prisoners who don't like imPorts made it profoundly clear that I have a big glowy sign over my head that says 'imPort'. Or, I guess the sign is on the side of my head, because. Pointy ears.

From what I can tell, this world only cranks out humans. Which--Andraste's flaming ass, it's weird. Why do they only have humans running around? Do you think they went and, like. Killed off everyone else? I wouldn't put it past them.

[ She pauses for a moment. ]

If I'm actually full of shit and there are some organically grown all natural nonhumans from this world, please direct me to them and I'll send them a gift basket in apology.

That's too dramatic.

I advise a Tshirt with some witty words instead. It's modern and people will care to read it.

[ Not on a first visit, anyway. ]

Exactly. Not to mention, they'd get a lot easier to tell apart.

You could think of it as something like that, that's how we think of it anyway even though it is not a physical tree. It's like...putting a bunch of stars together so they make a shape, well the 9 realms where I come from form this sort of tree shape.

[Therefore...she's not entirely wrong.]

Light elves and dark elves are umbrella terms for elves from two separate worlds, they can be broken down further into different tribes--at least among the light elves. The tribes among the light elves include sea elves, moon elves, spice elves, cat elves, ice elves. They are a peaceful bunch, tend to get on well with my people and the people of Vanaheim and they are represented by Queen Aelsa Featherwine of the Fay...I like her because she set the King of Asgard on fire for trying to steal a lock of her hair, brilliant! It took him twenty years to regrow his beard.

The dark elves are not as diverse, they are simply the drow, they are ruled by Malekith the Accursed, they are a more aggressive race of elves, they target the weak among their kind. Not all of them are like this though, there are refugee dark elves and, as you can imagine, they are targeted by their brethren.

Yeah... maybe you are full of shit?

[ Wait, that sounds rude. ]

Uh... ok... so where I am from I thought there were mostly only humans? Well, I mean... humans, but also all the other animals. Uhhh...

Wait, hold on.

[ Getting quiet for a few seconds as he tries to organize his thoughts. ]

Ok! So, I thought there weren't nonhumans that looked mostly human at first, but also I was wrong? Because there were vampires they just didn't tell people they were vampires. So maybe there are ones here that are native? Or also other things that aren't vampires...

[ He tried hard. ]

No kidding. I'm used to pirates or skeletons or squids trying to kill me just because that's what they do, but that seemed like a different thing.

Gotten any good answers yet?

Blah... blah... Tabris is the worst, [ Alistair mutters under his breath as he writes words that might be what she said or might be the lyrics to "Andraste's Mabari." When he looks up he smiles. ] This will definitely work. I'm also going to say you said I don't have to have dinner with anyone who wears more than five pieces of jewelry at a time.

Okay then, we'll save that for crowds. Sound good?

[He laughs -- open and honestly amused at the idea.]

Got a plan in mind already then?

Hell if I know. I don't understand it, either.

Most, or probably all, nonhuman sapients come in the same way we did. Which means it's really just us. As far as I'm able to determine, humans are the only known species to ever have evolved to that level.

They say dolphins are close, but I can't say I've ever met a dolphin.

If they actually evolved like a regular species, they're really taking their time with things.

[like, uh...they still eat? what the fuck.]

Yes, some; like us, from the shadows. And magic returns to the humans, too. Some of them, not all, like always.

( opinion on that is mixed. she thinks it best; others do not necessarily agree with her. but margaux is used to being set slightly in opposition to her clan -

she misses them, but not so much she plans to return soon. )

[ He hits a snag here, because he doesn't actually know enough about Tabris to say whether or not she could beat him up. Mahariel certainly could not.

They'll have to find out sometime. For now he only hums skeptically and moves on. ]

Well, they are very busy with whatever it is they do up there. Counting coins and writing lists of demands. I never realized how annoying the Wardens could be until I wasn't one.
